Psalm 75

God Abases the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.

For the choir director; set to [a]Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

75 We (A)give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is (B)near;
Men declare (C)Your wondrous works.
“When I select an (D)appointed time,
It is I who (E)judge with equity.
“The (F)earth and all who dwell in it [b]melt;
It is I who have firmly set its (G)pillars. [c]Selah.
“I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘(H)Do not lift up the horn;
Do not lift up your horn on high,
(I)Do not speak with insolent [d]pride.’”

For not from the east, nor from the west,
Nor from the [e](J)desert comes exaltation;
But (K)God is the Judge;
He (L)puts down one and exalts another.
For a (M)cup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is [f](N)well mixed, and He pours out of this;
Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and (O)drink down its dregs.

But as for me, I will (P)declare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 And all the (Q)horns of the wicked [g]He will cut off,
But (R)the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

Daniel 12

The Time of the End

12 “Now at that time (A)Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a (B)time of distress (C)such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the (D)book, will be rescued. (E)Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, (F)these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting [a]contempt. [b]Those who have (G)insight will (H)shine brightly like the brightness of the [c]expanse of heaven, and those who (I)lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. But as for you, Daniel, (J)conceal these words and (K)seal up the book until the (L)end of time; (M)many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”

Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river. And (N)one said to the man (O)dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “(P)How long will it be until the end of these wonders?” I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, [d]as he (Q)raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by (R)Him who lives forever that it would be for a [e](S)time, [f]times, and half a [g]time; and as soon as [h]they finish (T)shattering the [i]power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the [j]outcome of these events?” He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and (U)sealed up until the end time. 10 (V)Many will be purged, [k]purified and refined, but the (W)wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but [l]those who (X)have insight will understand. 11 From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the [m](Y)abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 How (Z)blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the (AA)1,335 days! 13 But as for you, go your way to the [n]end; then you will enter into (AB)rest and rise again for your (AC)allotted portion at the end of the [o]age.”

Matthew 12:15-21

15 But Jesus, [a]aware of this, withdrew from there. Many followed Him, and (A)He healed them all, 16 and (B)warned them not to [b]tell who He was. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:

18 (C)Behold, My [c]Servant whom I [d]have chosen;
(D)My Beloved in whom My soul [e]is well-pleased;
(E)I will put My Spirit upon Him,
(F)And He shall proclaim [f]justice to the [g]Gentiles.
19 (G)He will not quarrel, nor cry out;
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 (H)A battered reed He will not break off,
And a smoldering wick He will not put out,
Until He [h]leads [i]justice to victory.
21 (I)And in His name the [j]Gentiles will hope.”
