Psalm 27:7-14

Hearken unto my voice, O Lord, when I cry: have mercy also upon me and hear me.

When thou saidest, [a]Seek ye my face, mine heart answered unto thee, O Lord, I will seek thy face.

Hide not therefore thy face from me, nor cast thy servant away in displeasure: thou hast been my succor, leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 [b]Though my father and my mother should forsake me, yet the Lord will gather me up.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a right path, because of mine enemies.

12 Give me not unto the [c]lust of mine adversaries: for there are false witnesses risen up against me, and such as speak cruelly.

13 I should have fainted, except I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord [d]in the land of the living.

14 [e]Hope in the Lord: be strong, and he shall comfort thine heart, and trust in the Lord.

Genesis 49:1-2

49 1 Jacob blesseth all his sons by name. 10 He telleth them that Christ shall come out of Judah. 29 He will be buried with his fathers. 33 He dieth.

Then Jacob called his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you what shall come to you in the [a]last days.

Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob, and hearken unto Israel your father.

Genesis 49:8-13

¶ Thou Judah, thy brethren shall praise thee: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies: thy father’s son shall [a]bow down before unto thee.

Judah as a Lion’s whelp shalt thou come up from the spoil, my son. He shall lie down and couch a Lion, and as a Lioness: [b]Who shall stir him up?

10 The [c]Sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a Lawgiver from between his feet, until [d]Shiloh come, and the people shall be gathered unto him.

11 He shall bind his Ass foal unto the [e]vine, and his ass’s colt unto the best vine. He shall wash his garment in wine, and his cloak in the blood of grapes.

12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

13 ¶ Zebulun shall dwell by the seaside, and he shall be an haven for ships: and his border shall be unto Sidon.

Genesis 49:21-26

21 ¶ Naphtali shall be a hind let go, giving [a]goodly words.

22 ¶ Joseph shall be [b]a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by the well side: the [c]small boughs shall turn upon the wall:

23 [d]And the archers grieved him, and shot against him, and hated him.

24 But his bow abode strong, and the hands of his arms were strengthened, by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob, of whom was the feeder appointed by the [e]stone of Israel,

25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee, and by the almighty, who shall bless thee with heavenly blessings from above, with blessings of the deep that lieth beneath, with blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.

26 The blessings of thy father shall be [f]stronger than the blessings of mine elders: unto the end of the hills of the world they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the top of the head of him that was [g]separated from his brethren.

Luke 1:67-79

67 [a]Then his father Zacharias was filled with the holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because he hath [b]visited (A)and [c]redeemed his people,

69 (B)And hath raised up the [d]horn of salvation unto us, in the house of his servant David,

70 (C)As he spake by the mouth of his holy Prophets, which were since the world began, saying,

71 That he would send us deliverance from our enemies, and from the hands of all that hate us,

72 That he might show mercy towards our fathers: and [e]remember his holy covenant,

73 (D)And the oath, which he sware to our father Abraham.

74 Which was, that he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, should serve him without fear,

75 All the days of our life, in (E)holiness and righteousness [f]before him.

76 And thou, [g]babe, shalt be called the Prophet of the most High: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,

77 And to [h]give knowledge of salvation unto his people, by the [i]remission of their sins,

78 Through the tender mercy of our God, whereby (F)the [j]dayspring from on high hath visited us,

79 To give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of [k]peace.
