God’s Name Is Great in Israel
For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
76 God is (A)known in Judah;
His name is (B)great in Israel.
2 So His [a](C)tabernacle is in (D)Salem;
His (E)dwelling place is in Zion.
3 There He (F)broke the [b]flaming arrows,
The shield and the sword and the battle. [c]Selah.
4 You are shining,
Majestic from the mountains of prey.
5 The (G)stouthearted were plundered,
[d]They sank into sleep;
And none of the [e]warriors could use his hands.
6 At Your (H)rebuke, O God of Jacob,
Both (I)chariot rider and horse slumbered into a deep sleep.
7 But You, You are [f](J)fearsome;
And (K)who can stand in Your presence when once [g]You are angry?
Prophesy Against Egypt
29 In the (A)tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against (B)Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all (C)Egypt. 3 Speak and say, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh,
“Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt,
The great [a](D)monster that lies in the midst of his canals of the Nile,
That (E)has said, ‘My Nile is mine, and I myself have made it.’
4 I will put (F)hooks in your jaws
And make the fish of your canals of the Nile cling to your scales.
And I will bring you up out of the midst of your canals of the Nile,
And all the fish of your canals of the Nile will cling to your scales.
5 I will (G)abandon you to the wilderness, you and all the fish of your canals of the Nile;
You will fall on the [b]open field; you will not be brought together or [c](H)gathered.
I have given you for (I)food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the sky.
6 Then all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh
Because they have been only a (J)staff made of reed to the house of Israel.
7 When they seized you with the hand,
You (K)tore and split open all their [d]shoulders;
And when they leaned on you,
You broke and made all their loins [e]quake.”
8 ‘Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will (L)bring upon you a sword, and I will cut off from you man and beast. 9 The (M)land of Egypt will become a desolation and waste. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.
Because [f]you (N)said, ‘The Nile is mine, and I have made it,’ 10 therefore, behold, I am (O)against you and against your canals of the Nile, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene and even to the border of [g]Ethiopia. 11 A man’s foot will (P)not pass through it, and the foot of a beast will not pass through it, and it will not be inhabited for forty years. 12 So I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the (Q)midst of desolated lands. And her cities, in the midst of cities that are laid waste, will be desolate forty years; and I will (R)scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands.”
The Seventh Trumpet
15 Then the (A)seventh angel sounded, and there were (B)loud voices in heaven, saying,
“(C)The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of (D)His [a]Christ, and (E)He will reign forever and ever.” 16 And the twenty-four elders, who (F)sit on their thrones before God, (G)fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying,
“We give You thanks, (H)O Lord God, the Almighty, who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to (I)reign. 18 And (J)the nations were enraged, and (K)Your rage came, and (L)the time came for the dead to be judged, and to give reward to Your (M)slaves—the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, (N)the small and the great—and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19 And (O)the sanctuary of God which is in heaven was opened, and (P)the ark of His covenant appeared in His sanctuary, and there were flashes of (Q)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a (R)great [b]hailstorm.
