Version
Psalm 26

A Psalm of David.

¶ Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

Examine me, O LORD and prove me; melt my kidneys and my heart.

For thy mercy is before my eyes, and I walk in thy truth.

I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with hypocrites.

I have hated the congregation of evil doers and will not sit with the wicked.

¶ I will wash my hands in innocency, so I will walk near unto thine altar, O LORD:

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house and the place of the tabernacle of thy glory.

Gather not my soul with the sinners, nor my life with those who have blood on their hands:

10 In whose hands are wicked devices, and their right hand is full of bribes.

11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; ransom me and be merciful unto me.

12 I have walked uprightly; in the congregations I will bless the LORD.

Psalm 28

A Psalm of David.

¶ Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent unto me lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like those that go down into the grave.

Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward the oracle of thy holiness.

Do not catch me away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.

Give them according to their deeds and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render unto them their desert.

Because they do not regard the works of the LORD nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them and not build them up.

¶ Blessed be the LORD because he has heard the voice of my supplications.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise him.

The LORD is the strength of his people, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Save thy people and bless thine inheritance; feed them also and lift them up for ever.

Psalm 36

To the Overcomer, A Psalm of David the slave of the LORD.

¶ The rebellion of the wicked saith to my heart that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes until his iniquity is found to be hateful.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he has left off to be wise and to do good.

He devises iniquity upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not abhor evil.

¶ Thy mercy, O LORD, reaches unto the heavens, and thy truth reaches unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy judgments are a great deep; O LORD, thou dost preserve man and beast.

How excellent is thy mercy, O God! therefore the sons of Adam cover themselves in the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house, and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light shall we see light.

10 Extend thy mercy unto those that know thee and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen; they are cast down and shall not be able to rise.

Psalm 39

To the Overcomer, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

¶ I said, I will take heed to my ways that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bit while the wicked is against me.

I was dumb with silence; I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue,

LORD, make me to know my end and the measure of my days, what it is that I may know how long I am to be of this world.

Behold, thou hast made my days as a handbreadth, and my age is as nothing before thee; verily every man that lives is altogether vanity. Selah.

Surely man walks in darkness; surely they are disquieted in vain; they heap up riches not knowing who shall gather them.

¶ And now, Lord, what shall I wait for? My hope is in thee.

Deliver me from all my rebellions; do not make me the reproach of the foolish.

I was dumb, I opened not my mouth because thou didst it.

10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

11 When thou with chastening dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his greatness to consume away like a moth; surely every man is vanity. Selah.

12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

13 O spare me, that I may recover strength before I go from here and be no more.

Genesis 9:1-17

¶ And God blessed Noah and his sons and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every animal of the earth and upon every fowl of the heavens, upon all that moves upon the earth and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand they are delivered.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green grass I have given you all things.

But flesh with the soul (or life) thereof, which is its blood, ye shall not eat.

For surely your blood which is your souls I will require; at the hand of every animal I will require it and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother I will require the soul (or life) of man.

Whoever sheds man’s blood in man, his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God is man made.

And you, be ye fruitful and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply therein.

¶ And God spoke unto Noah and to his sons with him, saying,

Behold that I establish my covenant with you and with your seed after you

10 and with every living soul that is with you, of the fowl, of the animals, and of every beast of the earth with you, from all that go out of the ark to every animal of the earth,

11 that I will establish my covenant with you, that all flesh shall not be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

12 ¶ And God said, This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living soul that is with you, for perpetual ages:

13 I set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.

14 And it shall come to pass when I bring clouds over the earth, that the bow shall appear in the clouds;

15 and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living soul of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

16 And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living soul of all flesh that is upon the earth.

17 And God said unto Noah, This shall be the sign of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Hebrews 5:7-14

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, was heard because of his reverent fear;

although he was the Son of God, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered;

and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal saving health unto all those that hearken unto him,

10 ¶ named by God high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

11 Of whom we have many things to say and difficult to declare, seeing ye are hard of hearing.

12 For you should now be teaching others, if we look at the time, yet you need to be taught again which are the first elements of the oracles of God and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.

13 For any one that uses milk is not qualified in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

14 But strong food belongs to those that are perfect, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

John 3:16-21

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that the light is come into the world, and men loved darkness more than the light because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
