Psalm 105

Remember His Wondrous Deeds

105 Oh (A)give thanks to Yahweh, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make known His acts among the peoples.
Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
(E)Muse on all His wondrous deeds.
Boast in His holy name;
Let the (F)heart of those who seek Yahweh be glad.
Inquire of Yahweh and (G)His strength;
(H)Seek His face continually.
Remember His (I)wondrous deeds which He has done,
His miracles and the (J)judgments [a]uttered by His mouth,
O seed of (K)Abraham, His servant,
O sons of (L)Jacob, His (M)chosen ones!
He is Yahweh our God;
His (N)judgments are in all the earth.

He has (O)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded for a (P)thousand generations,
(Q)Which He cut with Abraham,
And His (R)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (S)confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(T)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [b](U)portion of your inheritance,”
12 When they were only a (V)few men in number,
Of little account, and (W)sojourners in it.
13 And they wandered about from nation to nation,
From one kingdom to another people.
14 He (X)permitted no man to oppress them,
And He (Y)reproved kings for their sakes:
15 (Z)Do not touch My anointed ones,
And to My prophets do no evil.”

16 And He (AA)called for a famine upon the land;
He (AB)broke the whole staff of bread.
17 He (AC)sent a man before them,
Joseph, who was (AD)sold as a slave.
18 They afflicted his (AE)feet with fetters,
[c]He himself was laid in irons;
19 Until the time that his (AF)word came to pass,
The word of Yahweh (AG)refined him.
20 The (AH)king sent and released him,
The ruler of peoples sent and set him free.
21 He (AI)set him up as lord of his house
And ruler over all his possessions,
22 To [d]imprison his princes [e](AJ)at will,
And that he might teach his elders wisdom.
23 (AK)Then Israel came to Egypt;
And Jacob (AL)sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 And He (AM)caused His people to be very fruitful,
And He caused them to be stronger than their adversaries.

25 He (AN)turned their heart to hate His people,
To (AO)deal craftily with His slaves.
26 He (AP)sent Moses His servant,
And (AQ)Aaron, whom He had chosen.
27 They (AR)set forth the words of His signs among them,
And miracles in the land of Ham.
28 He (AS)sent darkness and made it dark;
And they did not (AT)rebel against His words.
29 He (AU)turned their waters into blood
And caused their fish to die.
30 Their land swarmed with (AV)frogs
Even in the (AW)chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and there came a (AX)swarm of flies
And (AY)gnats in all their territory.
32 He [f]gave them (AZ)hail for rain,
And flaming fire in their land.
33 He also (BA)struck down their vines and their fig trees,
And He shattered the trees of their territory.
34 He spoke, and (BB)locusts came,
And creeping locusts, without number,
35 And [g]they ate up all vegetation in their land,
And [h]they ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 He also (BC)struck down all the firstborn in their land,
The (BD)first of all their vigor.

37 Then He brought them out with (BE)silver and gold,
And there was none among His tribes who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (BF)glad when they went out,
For the (BG)dread of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a (BH)cloud for a [i]covering,
And (BI)fire to give light by night.
40 [j]They (BJ)asked, and He brought (BK)quail,
And He satisfied them with the [k](BL)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [l]rock and (BM)water flowed out;
[m]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (BN)remembered His holy word
With Abraham His servant;
43 And He brought His people out with joy,
His chosen ones with a shout of (BO)joy.
44 He (BP)gave them also the lands of the [n]nations,
That they (BQ)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 So that they might (BR)keep His statutes
And observe His laws,
[o]Praise Yah!

Zechariah 4

The Golden Lampstand

Then (A)the angel who was speaking with me returned and (B)roused me, as a man who is roused from his sleep. And he said to me, “(C)What do you see?” And I said, “I see, and behold, a (D)lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its (E)seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it, also (F)two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side.” Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me saying, “What are these, (G)my lord?” So (H)the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, “(I)Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, “This is the word of Yahweh to (J)Zerubbabel, saying, ‘(K)Not by [a]might nor by power, but by My (L)Spirit,’ says Yahweh of hosts. ‘What are you, O great (M)mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with (N)shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, “The hands of Zerubbabel have (O)laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will (P)finish it. Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to [b]you. 10 For who has despised the day of (Q)small things? [c]But these (R)seven will be glad when they see the [d](S)plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the (T)eyes of Yahweh which (U)roam to and fro throughout the earth.”

11 Then I answered and said to him, “What are these (V)two olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?” 12 And I answered the second time and said to him, “What are the two olive [e]branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden oil from themselves?” 13 So he spoke to me, saying, “(W)Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, (X)my lord.” 14 Then he said, “These are the two [f](Y)anointed ones who are (Z)standing by the (AA)Lord of all the earth.”

Ephesians 4:17-32

Put On the New Man

17 (A)Therefore this I say, and testify in the Lord, (B)that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the (C)futility of their mind, 18 being (D)darkened in their mind, (E)alienated from the life of God because of the (F)ignorance that is in them, because of the (G)hardness of their heart. 19 And they, having (H)become callous, (I)have given themselves over to (J)sensuality [a]for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20 But you did not (K)learn [b]Christ in this way— 21 if indeed you (L)heard Him and were (M)taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 [c]to (N)lay aside, in reference to your former conduct, the (O)old man, which is being corrupted in accordance with the (P)lusts of deceit, 23 and to be (Q)renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and to (R)put on the (S)new man, which [d](T)in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

25 Therefore, (U)laying aside falsehood, (V)speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are (W)members of one another. 26 (X)Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not (Y)give the devil [e]an opportunity. 28 He who steals must steal no longer, but rather (Z)he must labor, (AA)performing with his own hands what is good, (AB)so that he will have something to share with [f]one who has need. 29 Let no [g](AC)unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for (AD)building up [h]what is needed, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30 (AE)And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [i]by whom you were (AF)sealed for the day of redemption. 31 (AG)Let all bitterness and anger and wrath and shouting and slander be (AH)put away from you, along with all (AI)malice. 32 (AJ)Instead, be kind to one another, tender-hearted, graciously forgiving each other, (AK)just as God in Christ also has graciously forgiven [j]you.

Matthew 9:1-8

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

And getting into a boat, Jesus crossed over the sea and came to (A)His own city.

(B)And behold, they brought to Him a (C)paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, (D)Take courage, [a]son; (E)your sins are forgiven.” And behold, some of the scribes said [b]to themselves, “This man (F)blasphemes.” And Jesus (G)knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘(H)Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that (I)the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He *said to the (J)paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” And he got up and [c]went home. But when the crowds saw this, they were afraid, and (K)glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
