Psalm 118

Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Endures Forever

118 (A)Give thanks to Yahweh, for (B)He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
Oh let (C)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
Oh let the (D)house of Aaron say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
Oh let those (E)who [a]fear Yahweh say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”

From my (F)distress I called upon Yah;
Yah answered me and (G)set me in a large place.
Yahweh is (H)for me; I will (I)not fear;
(J)What can man do to me?
Yahweh is for me (K)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (L)look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is (M)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in man.
It is (N)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in nobles.

10 All nations (O)surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely (P)cut them off.
11 They (Q)surrounded me, indeed, they surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
12 They surrounded me (R)like bees;
They were extinguished as a (S)fire of thorns;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
13 You (T)pushed me down violently to make me fall,
But Yahweh (U)helped me.
14 (V)Yah is my strength and song,
And He has become (W)my salvation.

15 The sound of (X)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (Y)right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16 The (Z)right hand of Yahweh is exalted;
The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
17 I (AA)will not die; indeed I will live,
And (AB)recount the works of Yah.
18 Yah has (AC)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AD)not given me over to death.

19 (AE)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to Yah.
20 This is the gate of Yahweh;
The (AF)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (AG)answered me,
And You have (AH)become my salvation.

22 The (AI)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is from Yahweh;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which Yahweh has made;
Let us (AJ)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Yahweh, (AK)save!
O Yahweh, (AL)succeed!
26 (AM)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of Yahweh;
We have (AN)blessed you from the house of Yahweh.
27 (AO)Yahweh is God, and He has given us (AP)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords [b]to the (AQ)horns of the altar.
28 (AR)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AS)I exalt You.
29 (AT)Give thanks to Yahweh, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.

Deuteronomy 16:9-12

The Feast of Weeks

(A)You shall count seven weeks for yourself; you shall begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. 10 Then you shall [a]celebrate the Feast of Weeks to Yahweh your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give just as Yahweh your God blesses you; 11 and you shall (B)be glad before Yahweh your God, you and your son and your daughter and your male and female slaves and (C)the Levite who is within your gates and (D)the sojourner and the [b]orphan and the widow who are in your midst, in the place where Yahweh your God chooses for His name to dwell. 12 (E)And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes.

Acts 4:18-21

18 And when they had summoned them, they (A)commanded them not to speak or teach at all [a]in the name of Jesus. 19 But (B)Peter and John answered and said to them, “(C)Whether it is right in the sight of God to hear you rather than God, you be the judge; 20 for (D)we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” 21 And when they had threatened them further, they let them go (finding no basis on which to punish them) (E)on account of the people, because they were all (F)glorifying God for what had happened;

Acts 4:23-33

23 So when they were released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Master, it is You who (A)made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who (B)by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,

(C)Why did the [a]Gentiles rage,
And the peoples devise vain things?
26 (D)The kings of the earth [b]took their stand,
And the rulers were gathered together
Against the Lord and against His [c](E)Christ.’

27 For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy [d](F)Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both (G)Herod and (H)Pontius Pilate, along with (I)the [e]Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28 to do whatever Your hand and (J)Your purpose predestined to occur. 29 And [f]now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your slaves may (K)speak Your word with all (L)confidence, 30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and [g](M)signs and wonders happen through the name of Your holy [h](N)Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed earnestly, the (O)place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all (P)filled with the Holy Spirit and began to (Q)speak the word of God with (R)confidence.

Distribution Among Needy Believers

32 And the [i]congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and not one was saying that any of his possessions was his own, but, for them, (S)everything was common. 33 And (T)with great power the apostles were bearing (U)witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

John 4:19-26

19 The woman *said to Him, “[a]Sir, I see that You are (A)a prophet. 20 (B)Our fathers worshiped on (C)this mountain, and you people say that (D)in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” 21 Jesus *said to her, “Woman, believe Me, (E)an hour is coming when (F)neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 (G)You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for (H)salvation is from the Jews. 23 But (I)an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father (J)in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is [b]spirit, and those who worship Him must worship (K)in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman *said to Him, “I know that (L)Messiah is coming ((M)He who is called [c]Christ); when He comes, He will declare all things to us.” 26 Jesus *said to her, (N)I who speak to you am He.”
