இயேசுவைக் கொல்லத் திட்டம்
(மத்தேயு 26:1-5,14-16; மாற்கு 14:1-2,10-11; யோவான் 11:45-53)
22 பஸ்கா எனப்படும், யூதர்களின் புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப் பண்டிகைக்குரிய காலம் நெருங்கி வந்தது. 2 தலைமை ஆசாரியரும், வேதபாரகரும் இயேசுவைக் கொல்வதற்கு வழி தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் மக்களுக்கு பயந்தனர்.
யூதாஸின் சதித்திட்டம்
(மத்தேயு 26:14-16; மாற்கு 14:10-11)
3 இயேசுவின் பன்னிரண்டு சீஷர்களில் ஒருவன் யூதாஸ் காரியோத்து என்பவன் ஆவான். சாத்தான் யூதாஸிற்குள் புகுந்து ஒரு தீய செயலைச் செய்யுமாறு அவனைத் தூண்டினான். 4 யூதாஸ் தலைமை ஆசாரியரிடமும், தேவாலயத்தைப் பாதுகாத்த வீரர்களிடமும் சென்று பேசினான். இயேசுவை அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைப்பதைக் குறித்து அவன் அவர்களிடம் பேசினான். 5 அவர்கள் இதனால் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் அடைந்தார்கள். இயேசுவை அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தால் அவனுக்குப் பணம் கொடுப்பதாக அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள். 6 யூதாஸ் அதற்கு ஒப்புக்கொண்டான். இயேசுவை அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைப்பதற்கு ஏற்ற நேரத்தை எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தான் யூதாஸ். தன்னைச் சுற்றிலும் மக்கள் எவரும் பார்க்காத நேரத்தில் அதைச் செய்யவேண்டுமென யூதாஸ் விரும்பினான்.
பஸ்கா உணவு ஆயத்தம்

7 புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப் பண்டிகையின் நாள் வந்தது. பஸ்கா ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளை யூதர்கள் பலியிடுகிற நாள் அது ஆகும். 8 பேதுருவையும் யோவனையும் நோக்கி இயேசு, “நாம் உண்பதற்கு நீங்கள் சென்று பஸ்கா விருந்தைத் தயாரியுங்கள்” என்றார்.
9 பேதுருவும், யோவானும், இயேசுவிடம், “பஸ்கா விருந்தை நாங்கள் எங்கே தயாரிக்க வேண்டும் என நீங்கள் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, 10 “கவனியுங்கள், நீங்கள் எருசலேமுக்குள் சென்ற பின்பு ஒரு குடத்தில் தண்ணீரைச் சுமந்து செல்லும் ஒரு மனிதனைக் காண்பீர்கள். அவனைத் தொடர்ந்து செல்லுங்கள். அவன் ஒரு வீட்டுக்குள் செல்வான். அவனோடு நீங்கள் செல்லுங்கள். 11 அந்த வீட்டின் சொந்தக்காரனிடம், ‘போதகரும் அவரது சீஷர்களும் பஸ்கா விருந்து உண்ணக் கூடிய அறையைத் தயவுசெய்து எங்களுக்குக் காட்டும்படியாக போதகர் கேட்கிறார்’ என்று சொல்லுங்கள். 12 உடனே அந்த வீட்டின் சொந்தக்காரனான அம்மனிதன் மாடியில் ஒரு பெரிய அறையைக் காட்டுவான். இந்த அறை உங்களுக்குத் தயாராக இருக்கும். பஸ்கா விருந்தை அங்கே தயாரியுங்கள்” என்றார்.
13 எனவே பேதுருவும், யோவானும் சென்றார்கள். இயேசு கூறியபடியே எல்லாம் நிகழ்ந்தன. எனவே அவர்கள் பஸ்கா விருந்தைத் தயாரித்தார்கள்.
இயேசுவின் இரவு உணவு
(மத்தேயு 26:26-30; மாற்கு 14:22-26; 1 கொரி. 11:23-25)
14 பஸ்கா விருந்தை அவர்கள் சாப்பிடும் நேரம் வந்தது. இயேசுவும், சீஷர்களும் மேசையைச் சூழ்ந்து அமர்ந்தனர். 15 அவர்களிடம் இயேசு, “நான் இறக்கும் முன்பு இந்தப் பஸ்கா விருந்தை உங்களோடு சேர்ந்து உண்ணவேண்டும் என்று மிகவும் விரும்பினேன். 16 தேவனின் இராஜ்யத்தில் அதற்குரிய உண்மையான பொருள் கொடுக்கப்படும்வரைக்கும் நான் இன்னொரு பஸ்கா விருந்தைப் புசிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்றார்.
17 பின்பு இயேசு ஒரு கோப்பை திராட்சை இரசத்தை எடுத்தார். அதற்காக தேவனுக்கு நன்றி கூறினார். பின்பு அவர், “இக்கோப்பையை எடுத்து இங்கு இருக்கும் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் கொடுங்கள். 18 ஏனெனில் தேவனின் இராஜ்யம் வரும்வரைக்கும் நான் மீண்டும் திராட்சை இரசம் குடிக்கப் போவதில்லை” என்றார்.
19 பின்பு இயேசு, அப்பத்தை எடுத்தார். அப்பத்திற்காக தேவனுக்கு நன்றி கூறிவிட்டு அதைப் பிட்டார். சீஷர்களுக்கு அதைக் கொடுத்தார். பின்பு இயேசு, “இதனை நான் உங்களுக்காகக் கொடுக்கிறேன். எனது சரீரமே இந்த அப்பமாகும். எனவே என்னை நினைவுகூருவதற்கு இப்படிச் செய்யுங்கள்” என்றார். 20 அப்பத்தை உண்ட பின்னர், அதே வகையில் இயேசு திராட்சை இரசக் கோப்பையை எடுத்து “இந்தத் திராட்சை இரசம் தேவனுக்கும் அவரது மக்களுக்கும் உள்ள புதிய உடன்படிக்கையைக் காட்டுகிறது. நான் உங்களுக்காகக் கொடுக்கிற என் இரத்தத்தில் (மரணத்தில்) இப்புது உடன்படிக்கை ஆரம்பமாகிறது” என்றார்.
இயேசுவின் எதிரி யார்?
21 இயேசு, “உங்களில் ஒருவன் என்னை வஞ்சிக்கப் போகிறான். மேசை மீது அவனது கை என் கைக்குப் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறது. 22 தேவன் திட்டமிட்டபடியே மனிதகுமாரன் செய்வார். ஆனால் மனிதகுமாரனைக் கொல்லப்படுவதற்காக ஒப்படைக்கிற மனிதனுக்கு மிகவும் தீமை நடக்கும்” என்றார்.
23 அப்போது சீஷர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர், “இயேசுவுக்கு அவ்வாறு செய்பவன் நமக்குள் யார்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
தாழ்மையாக இருங்கள்
24 பின்னர் தங்களில் மிக முக்கியமானவன் யார் என்று அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் தமக்குள் விவாதிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். 25 ஆனால் இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, “உலகத்தில் (வேறுவேறு) தேசங்களின் ராஜாக்கள் மக்களை அரசாளுகிறார்கள். பிற மக்களின் மீது அதிகாரம் செலுத்துபவர்கள் ‘மக்களின் உதவியாளன்’ என தம்மை எல்லாரும் அழைக்கும்படிச் செய்கிறார்கள். 26 ஆனால் நீங்கள் அவ்வாறு இருக்கலாகாது. உங்களுக்குள் மிகச் சிறந்தவன் சிறியவனைப்போன்று நடந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். தலைவர்கள் வேலைக்காரனைப்போல இருக்கவேண்டும். 27 யார் மிகவும் முக்கியமானவன்? மேசையின் அருகே உட்கார்ந்திருப்பவனா அல்லது அவனுக்குப் பரிமாறுகிறவனா? மேசையருகே உட்கார்ந்திருப்பவன் முக்கியமானவன் என்று நீங்கள் நினைக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் உங்களில் நான் ஒரு வேலைக்காரனைப்போல இருக்கிறேன்.
28 “பெரும் சிக்கல்களின்போது நீங்கள் நம்பிக்கையோடு என்னருகில் தங்கி இருக்கிறீர்கள். 29 எனது பிதா எனக்கு ஓர் இராஜ்யத்தைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். என்னோடு அரசாளுகிற அதிகாரத்தை உங்களுக்கு நானும் கொடுக்கிறேன். 30 என் அரசில் நீங்கள் மேசை அருகே என்னோடு உண்டு, பருகுவீர்கள். நீங்கள் சிம்மாசனங்களில் உட்கார்ந்து இஸ்ரவேலின் பன்னிரண்டு குலங்களையும் நியாயம்தீர்ப்பீர்கள்.
நம்பிக்கையை இழக்காதீர்கள்
(மத்தேயு 26:31-35; மாற்கு 14:27-31; யோவான் 13:36-38)
31 “ஓர் உழவன் கோதுமையைப் புடைப்பது போல சாத்தான் உங்களைச் சோதிக்க வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுள்ளான். சீமோனே, சீமோனே (பேதுரு), 32 நீ உன் நம்பிக்கையை இழக்காதிருக்கும்படியாக நான் பிரார்த்தனை செய்திருக்கிறேன். நீ என்னிடம் திரும்பி வரும்போது உன் சகோதரர்கள் வலிமையுறும்பொருட்டு உதவி செய்” என்றார்.
33 ஆனால் பேதுரு இயேசுவை நோக்கி, “ஆண்டவரே, நான் உங்களுடன் சிறைக்கு வரத் தயாராக இருக்கிறேன். நான் உங்களோடு இறக்கவும் செய்வேன்” என்றான்.
34 ஆனால் இயேசு, “பேதுரு, நாளைக் காலையில் சேவல் கூவும் முன்பு என்னைப்பற்றி உனக்குத் தெரியாதென கூறுவாய். இதனை நீ மூன்று முறை சொல்வாய்” என்றார்.
நிறைவேறும் வேதவாக்கியம்
35 பின்பு இயேசு சீஷர்களை நோக்கி, “மக்களுக்குப் போதிப்பதற்காக நான் உங்களை அனுப்பினேன். நான் உங்களை பணம், பை, காலணிகள் எதுவுமின்றி அனுப்பினேன். ஆனால் ஏதேனும் உங்களுக்குக் குறை இருந்ததா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
சீஷர்கள், “இல்லை” என்றார்கள்.
36 இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, “ஆனால், இப்போது பணமோ, பையோ உங்களிடம் இருந்தால் அதை உங்களோடு கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள். உங்களிடம் வாள் இல்லையென்றால் உங்கள் சட்டையை விற்று ஒரு வாள் வாங்குங்கள். 37 வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்கிறது,
“‘மக்கள் அவரைக் குற்றவாளி என்றார்கள்.’(A)
இந்த வேதாகமக் கருத்து நிறைவேறவேண்டும். இது என்னைக் குறித்து எழுதப்பட்டது, இப்போது நிகழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது” என்றார்.
38 சீஷர்கள், “ஆண்டவரே, பாருங்கள், இங்கு இரண்டு வாள்கள் உள்ளன” என்றார்கள்.
இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “இரண்டு போதுமானவை” என்றார்.
இயேசுவின் பிரார்த்தனை
(மத்தேயு 26:36-46; மாற்கு 14:32-42)
39-40 இயேசு பட்டணத்தை (எருசலேம்) விட்டு ஒலிவமலைக்குச் சென்றார். அவரது சீஷர்கள் அவரோடு சென்றார்கள். அங்கே சென்றபிறகு சீஷர்களிடம் இயேசு, “நீங்கள் சோதனைக்கு ஆளாகாதவண்ணம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்யுங்கள்” என்றார்.
41 பின்பு இயேசு ஐம்பது அடி தூரம் அளவு அவர்களைவிட்டுச் சென்றார். அவர் முழங்காலிட்டு பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்: 42 “பிதாவே, நீங்கள் விரும்பினால் நான் துன்பத்தின் கோப்பையைக் குடிக்காமல் இருக்கும்படிச் செய்யுங்கள். ஆனால், நான் விரும்பும் வழியில் அல்லாமல் நீங்கள் விரும்பும் வழியிலேயே அது நடக்கட்டும்” என்றார். 43 அப்போது பரலோகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு தேவதூதன் அவருக்கு உதவி செய்ய அனுப்பப்பட்டான். 44 வேதனையால் இயேசு வருந்தினார். எனவே மிகவும் வேதனையோடு ஊக்கமாகப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார். குருதி கொட்டுவதுபோல அவரது முகத்தில் இருந்து வியர்வை வடிந்தது. 45 இயேசு பிரார்த்தனை செய்து முடிந்த பின்னர், அவரது சீஷர்களிடம் சென்றார். அவர்கள் உறங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். (அவர்கள் துயரம் அவர்களைச் சோர்வுறச் செய்தது.) 46 இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, “ஏன் உறங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்? எழுந்து சோதனைக்கு எதிரான வலிமைக்காகப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்யுங்கள்” என்றார்.
இயேசு கைது செய்யப்படுதல்
(மத்தேயு 26:47-56; மாற்கு 14:43-50; யோவான் 18:3-11)
47 இயேசு பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது ஒரு மக்கள் கூட்டம் வந்தது. பன்னிரண்டு சீஷர்களில் ஒருவன் அக்கூட்டத்தை வழிநடத்தி வந்தான். அவன் யூதாஸ். இயேசுவை முத்தமிடும் அளவுக்கு நெருக்கமாக யூதாஸ் வந்தான்.
48 ஆனால் இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி, “யூதாஸ், மனித குமாரனை வஞ்சிக்கும்பொருட்டு நட்பின் முத்தத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறாயா?” என்று கேட்டார். 49 இயேசுவின் சீஷர்களும் அங்கேயே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் என்ன நடக்கப்போகிறதென உணர்ந்தார்கள். சீஷர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “ஐயா, எங்கள் வாள்களை பயன்படுத்தட்டுமா?” என்றார்கள். 50 சீஷர்களில் ஒருவன் வாளைப் பயன்படுத்தவும் செய்தான். தலைமை ஆசாரியனின் வேலைக்காரனின் வலது காதை அவன் வெட்டினான்.
51 இயேசு “நிறுத்து” என்றார். பின்பு இயேசு வேலைக்காரனின் காதைத் தொட்டு அவனைக் குணப்படுத்தினார்.
52 இயேசுவைச் சிறைப்பிடிக்க வந்த கூட்டத்தில் தலைமை ஆசாரியரும், முதிய யூத அதிகாரிகளும், தேவாலயக் காவலர்களும் இருந்தனர். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, “வாளோடும் தடிகளோடும் நீங்கள் ஏன் வந்தீர்கள்? நான் குற்றவாளி என்று நீங்கள் நினைக்கிறீர்களா? 53 ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் நான் தேவாலயத்தில் உங்களோடு இருந்தேன். ஏன் என்னை அங்கே சிறைபிடிக்க முயல வில்லை? ஆனால் இது உங்கள் காலம். இருள் (பாவம்) ஆட்சி புரியும் நேரம்” என்றார்.
பேதுருவின் மறுதலிப்பு
(மத்தேயு 26:57-58,69-75; மாற்கு 14:53-54,66-72; யோவான் 18:12-18,25-27)
54 அவர்கள் இயேசுவைச் சிறைபிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள். தலைமை ஆசாரியனின் வீட்டுக்கு இயேசுவை அவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். பேதுரு அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து வந்தான். ஆனால் அவன் இயேசுவின் அருகே வரவில்லை. 55 வீரர்கள் வீட்டுக்கு வெளிப்புறத்தில் நடுவில் நெருப்பை வளர்த்து அதைச் சுற்றி உட்கார்ந்தார்கள். பேதுருவும் அவர்களோடு அமர்ந்தான். 56 ஒரு வேலைக்காரச் சிறுமி பேதுரு உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதைக் கண்டாள். நெருப்பின் ஒளியில் அவனை அவள் பார்க்க முடிந்தது. அவனுடைய முகத்தைக் கூர்ந்து நோக்கினாள். பின்பு அவள், “இந்த மனிதனும் அவரோடு (இயேசு) கூட இருந்தான்” என்றாள்.
57 ஆனால் பேதுரு, அது உண்மையில்லை என்றான். அவன், “பெண்ணே, எனக்கு அவரைத் தெரியாது” என்றான். 58 சற்று நேரத்துக்குப் பின் இன்னொருவன் பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து, “இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றும் சீஷர்களில் நீயும் ஒருவன்” என்றான்.
ஆனால் பேதுரு “மனிதனே, நான் அவரது சீஷர்களில் ஒருவன் அல்ல” என்றான்.
59 ஏறத்தாழ ஒரு மணி நேரத்துக்குப் பின்னர், இன்னொரு மனிதன், “இது உண்மை, இந்த மனிதன் அவரோடு இருந்தான். இவன் கலிலேயாவைச் சேர்ந்தவன்” என்றான். “எனக்கு நிச்சமாகத் தெரியும்” என்று அம்மனிதன் மீண்டும் வலியுறுத்தினான்.
60 ஆனால் பேதுரு, “மனிதனே. நீ கூறுகிற விஷயத்தைக்குறித்து எனக்குத் தெரியாது” என்றான்.
பேதுரு இவ்வாறு சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் தருணத்திலேயே சேவல் கூவியது. 61 அப்போது கர்த்தர் (இயேசு) திரும்பி பேதுருவின் கண்களைக் கூர்ந்து நோக்கினார். “சேவல் காலையில் கூவும் முன்னரே நீ மூன்று முறை என்னை உனக்குத் தெரியாது என்று கூறுவாய்” என்று கர்த்தர் ஏற்கெனவே தன்னிடம் கூறியதைப் பேதுரு நினைவுகூர்ந்தான். 62 பின்னர் பேதுரு வெளியே சென்று மனமுருகி அழுதான்.
இயேசுவைப் பரிகசித்தல்
(மத்தேயு 26:67-68; மாற்கு 14:65)
63-64 சில மனிதர்கள் இயேசுவைக் காவல்புரிந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப் பலவாறு கேலிசெய்தார்கள். அவர் பார்க்க முடியாதபடி அவரது கண்களை மறைத்தார்கள். பின்பு அவரை அடித்து விட்டு “நீ தீர்க்கதரிசியானால் யார் உன்னை அடித்தார்கள் என்று கூறு” என்றார்கள். 65 அம்மனிதர்கள் அவரை அவமானப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
யூத அதிகாரிகள் முன் இயேசு
(மத்தேயு 26:59-66; மாற்கு 14:55-64; யோவான் 18:19-24)
66 மறுநாள் காலையில், மக்களின் முதிய அதிகாரிகள், தலைமை ஆசாரியர், வேதபாரகர் ஆகியோர் ஒன்றாகக் கூடினார்கள். அவர்கள் தம் உயர்ந்த நீதிமன்றத்துக்கு இயேசுவை அழைத்துச் சென்றார்கள். 67 அவர்கள், “நீ கிறிஸ்துவானால் அப்படியே எங்களுக்குச் சொல்” என்றார்கள்.
இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு, “நான் கிறிஸ்து என்று உங்களுக்குக் கூறினால் நீங்கள் என்னை நம்பமாட்டீர்கள். 68 நான் உங்களைக் கேட்டால் நீங்கள் பதில் தரமாட்டீர்கள். 69 ஆனால் இப்பொழுதிலிருந்து தேவனுடைய சிம்மாசனத்தின் வலது பக்கத்தில் மனித குமாரன் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பார்” என்றார்.
70 அவர்கள் எல்லாரும், “அப்படியானால் நீ தேவனுடைய குமாரனா?” என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு “ஆம், நான் தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்வது சரியே” என்றார்.
71 அவர்கள், “ஏன் நமக்கு இப்போது சாட்சிகள் தேவை? அவன் இவ்வாறு சொல்வதை நாமே கேட்டோமே!” என்றனர்.

Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus(A)
22 Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,(B) 2 and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus,(C) for they were afraid of the people. 3 Then Satan(D) entered Judas, called Iscariot,(E) one of the Twelve. 4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard(F) and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. 5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.(G) 6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
The Last Supper(H)(I)(J)(K)(L)
7 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.(M) 8 Jesus sent Peter and John,(N) saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
9 “Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.
10 He replied, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, 11 and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”
13 They left and found things just as Jesus had told them.(O) So they prepared the Passover.
14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles(P) reclined at the table.(Q) 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.(R) 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”(S)
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it,(T) and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant(U) in my blood, which is poured out for you.[a] 21 But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table.(V) 22 The Son of Man(W) will go as it has been decreed.(X) But woe to that man who betrays him!” 23 They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.
24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.(Y) 25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest,(Z) and the one who rules like the one who serves.(AA) 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.(AB) 28 You are those who have stood by me in my trials. 29 And I confer on you a kingdom,(AC) just as my Father conferred one on me, 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom(AD) and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(AE)
31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked(AF) to sift all of you as wheat.(AG) 32 But I have prayed for you,(AH) Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”(AI)
33 But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”(AJ)
34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”
35 Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals,(AK) did you lack anything?”
“Nothing,” they answered.
36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’[b];(AL) and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“That’s enough!” he replied.
Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives(AM)
39 Jesus went out as usual(AN) to the Mount of Olives,(AO) and his disciples followed him. 40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”(AP) 41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down(AQ) and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup(AR) from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”(AS) 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.(AT) 44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.[c]
45 When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. 46 “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”(AU)
Jesus Arrested(AV)
47 While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, 48 but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”(AW) 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
51 But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard,(AX) and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? 53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts,(AY) and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour(AZ)—when darkness reigns.”(BA)
Peter Disowns Jesus(BB)
54 Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest.(BC) Peter followed at a distance.(BD) 55 And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them. 56 A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”
57 But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
58 A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.”
“Man, I am not!” Peter replied.
59 About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”(BE)
60 Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 The Lord(BF) turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.”(BG) 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.
The Guards Mock Jesus(BH)
63 The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him. 64 They blindfolded him and demanded, “Prophesy! Who hit you?” 65 And they said many other insulting things to him.(BI)
Jesus Before Pilate and Herod(BJ)(BK)(BL)
66 At daybreak the council(BM) of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and the teachers of the law, met together,(BN) and Jesus was led before them. 67 “If you are the Messiah,” they said, “tell us.”
Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me, 68 and if I asked you, you would not answer.(BO) 69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.”(BP)
70 They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?”(BQ)
He replied, “You say that I am.”(BR)
71 Then they said, “Why do we need any more testimony? We have heard it from his own lips.”

Planean matar a Jesús

22 Se acercaba ya la fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura, conocida como la Pascua. 2 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley estaban buscando cómo matar a Jesús porque le tenían miedo al pueblo.
Judas traiciona a Jesús
(Mt 26:14-16; Mr 14:10-11)
3 Entonces Satanás entró en Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce apóstoles. 4 Judas fue y habló con los jefes de los sacerdotes y los capitanes de la guardia del templo sobre cómo podía entregarles a Jesús. 5 Ellos se alegraron y le prometieron dinero a cambio. 6 Judas se comprometió y entonces empezó a buscar la oportunidad en que no hubiera gente cerca para poder entregarlo.
Preparación de la cena de la Pascua

7 Llegó el día de la fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura, cuando se sacrificaba al cordero para la Pascua. 8 Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles:
—Vayan y preparen la cena de la Pascua para que podamos cenar.
9 Ellos le dijeron a Jesús:
—¿En dónde quieres que la preparemos?
10 Él les dijo:
—Cuando entren a la ciudad, encontrarán a un hombre llevando un cántaro de agua. Síganlo a la casa donde entre 11 y díganle al dueño: “El Maestro pregunta: ¿Dónde está el cuarto donde voy a comer la Pascua con mis seguidores?” 12 Entonces el dueño les mostrará un cuarto grande en el piso de arriba, ya arreglado. Preparen la cena allí.
13 Entonces Pedro y Juan se fueron para allá y encontraron todo tal como Jesús les había dicho y prepararon la cena de la Pascua.
La Cena del Señor
(Mt 26:26-30; Mr 14:22-26; 1 Co 11:23-25)
14 Cuando llegó la hora de la cena, Jesús y los apóstoles estaban a la mesa. 15 Jesús les dijo:
—Tenía muchas ganas de celebrar esta cena de Pascua con ustedes, antes de padecer. 16 Pues yo les digo que no volveré a celebrar otra cena de Pascua, hasta que se le dé el verdadero significado en el reino de Dios.
17 Entonces Jesús tomó una copa, dio gracias a Dios y dijo:
—Tomen esta copa y compártanla todos. 18 Les digo que no volveré a beber vino hasta que el reino de Dios esté aquí.
19 Entonces Jesús tomó pan, dio gracias a Dios, lo partió, se lo dio a los apóstoles y dijo:
—Este pan es mi cuerpo que doy por ustedes. Cómanlo como recordatorio.
20 De la misma manera, después de la cena tomó la copa y dijo:
—Esta copa es mi sangre que es derramada por ustedes y establece el nuevo pacto.[a] 21 Pero escuchen, uno de ustedes se volverá en contra mía. Su mano está al lado de la mía en la mesa. 22 Es cierto que el Hijo del hombre cumplirá lo que Dios planeó, pero ¡pobre de aquel que lo traiciona!
23 Entonces se empezaron a preguntar entre ellos: «¿Quién de nosotros haría eso?»
Sean como un siervo
24 Más tarde, los apóstoles empezaron a discutir acerca de quién era el más importante entre ellos. 25 Pero Jesús les dijo: «Los reyes de las naciones ejercen dominio sobre su pueblo y los hombres que tienen mucha autoridad sobre otros hacen que los llamen “grandes benefactores del pueblo”, 26 pero ustedes no sean como ellos. El mayor debe hacerse como el menor, y el que manda debe hacerse como el que sirve. 27 ¿Quién es más importante: el que está a la mesa comiendo o el que le está sirviendo? Ustedes piensan que el que está a la mesa es el más importante, pero yo soy como un siervo entre ustedes.
28 »Ustedes son los que han estado conmigo durante todos mis tiempos difíciles. 29 Mi padre me dio un reino y yo les doy también la autoridad para reinar conmigo, 30 para que ustedes coman y beban a la mesa en ese reino, y se sienten en tronos a juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.
Se anuncia la negación de Pedro
(Mt 26:31-35; Mr 14:27-31; Jn 13:36-38)
31 »¡Simón[b], Simón! Mira que Satanás ha pedido sacudirlos a ustedes como un campesino sacude la paja de los granos de trigo. 32 Pero he orado para que no pierdas tu fe. Cuando vuelvas a mí, ayuda a tus hermanos a ser más fuertes».
33 Pero Simón dijo:
—Señor, estoy listo para ir contigo a la cárcel. ¡Hasta estoy dispuesto a morir por ti!
34 Pero Jesús dijo:
—Pedro, antes de que el gallo cante esta noche, me negarás tres veces.
Estén listos
35 Entonces Jesús les dijo a los seguidores:
—Cuando los envié sin dinero ni provisiones ni sandalias, ¿les hizo falta algo?
Ellos dijeron:
—No, nada.
36 Jesús les dijo:
—Pero ahora, si tienen provisiones o dinero, llévenlos con ustedes. Si no tienen espada, vendan su manto y compren una. 37 (A)Pues les digo que esta Escritura debe cumplirse en mí: “La gente lo consideraba un criminal”.[c] Esta Escritura debe cumplirse en mí. Fue escrita sobre mí y está sucediendo ahora.
38 Los seguidores dijeron:
—Mira Señor, aquí hay dos espadas.
Jesús les dijo:
—¡Basta ya!
Jesús ora solo
(Mt 26:36-46; Mr 14:32-42)
39 Como de costumbre, Jesús salió de la ciudad al monte de los Olivos, y sus seguidores fueron con él. 40 Al llegar ahí, les dijo:
—Oren para que no caigan en tentación.
41 Entonces Jesús se alejó un poco de ellos, se arrodilló y oró: 42 «Padre, líbrame de esta copa, pero que no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya». 43 Entonces apareció un ángel del cielo que fue enviado para darle fuerzas. 44 Él estaba sufriendo mucho y oraba con fervor. El sudor era como gotas de sangre que caían al suelo.[d] 45 Cuando Jesús terminó de orar, fue a donde estaban sus seguidores. Se quedaron dormidos vencidos de tristeza. 46 Jesús les dijo:
—¿Por qué están durmiendo? ¡Levántense y oren para que no caigan en tentación!
Arresto de Jesús
(Mt 26:47-56; Mr 14:43-50; Jn 18:3-11)
47 Mientras Jesús estaba hablando, llegó allí mucha gente. Los guiaba uno de los doce apóstoles, llamado Judas. Él se acercó a Jesús para saludarlo con un beso.
48 Pero Jesús le dijo:
—Judas, ¿Con un beso traicionas al Hijo del hombre?
49 Cuando los seguidores vieron lo que estaba pasando, le dijeron a Jesús:
—Señor, ¿atacamos con espada?
50 Uno de ellos le pegó al siervo del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja derecha. 51 Pero Jesús dijo:
—¡Déjenlos!
Entonces Jesús le tocó la oreja al siervo y lo sanó. 52 Luego, Jesús les dijo a los jefes de los sacerdotes, a los jefes de la guardia del templo y a los ancianos líderes, que habían venido a arrestarlo:
—¿Es que yo soy un bandido para que ustedes vengan con espadas y garrotes? 53 Yo he estado con ustedes todos los días en el área del templo y no me arrestaron. Pero esta es su hora, la hora en que reina la oscuridad.
La negación de Pedro
(Mt 26:57-58, 69-75; Mr 14:53-54, 66-72; Jn 18:12-18, 25-27)
54 Arrestaron a Jesús y lo llevaron a casa del sumo sacerdote. Pedro los siguió a cierta distancia. 55 Encendieron un fuego en medio del patio y se sentaron alrededor. Pedro se sentó con ellos. 56 Una sierva vio a Pedro sentado allí. Lo pudo ver por la luz del fuego, lo miró muy de cerca y dijo:
—Este hombre también estaba con él.
57 Pero Pedro lo negó:
—Mujer, yo no lo conozco.
58 Un poco más tarde alguien vio a Pedro y dijo:
—Tú también eres de ellos.
Pero Pedro dijo:
—¡No, hombre, no lo soy!
59 Pasó casi una hora y otro insistió:
—Es verdad, este hombre estaba con él, es de Galilea.
60 Pero Pedro dijo:
—¡Hombre, no sé de qué estás hablando!
En ese momento, mientras Pedro todavía estaba hablando, cantó el gallo. 61 Entonces el Señor se dio vuelta y miró a Pedro a la cara. Pedro recordó lo que el Señor le había dicho: «Antes de que el gallo cante esta noche, me negarás tres veces». 62 Entonces Pedro salió de allí y lloró amargamente.
Se burlan de Jesús
(Mt 26:67-68; Mr 14:65)
63 Los hombres que estaban vigilando a Jesús se burlaban de él y lo azotaban. 64 Le vendaron los ojos, y le decían:
—¡Demuéstranos que eres profeta, dinos quién te pegó!
65 Y le gritaban muchos otros insultos.
Jesús ante el Consejo
(Mt 26:59-66; Mr 14:55-64; Jn 18:19-24)
66 Cuando amaneció, los ancianos líderes del pueblo, los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley vinieron todos juntos. Llevaron a Jesús ante el Consejo, 67 y le preguntaron:
—Si eres el Mesías, dínoslo.
Jesús les dijo:
—Si les digo que soy el Mesías, ustedes no me creerán. 68 Y si les pregunto, no me responderán. 69 Pero desde este momento el Hijo del hombre se sentará a la derecha de Dios Todopoderoso.
70 Todos dijeron:
—¿Entonces tú eres el Hijo de Dios?
Jesús les dijo:
—Sí yo soy. No lo niego, ustedes mismos lo dicen.
71 Entonces dijeron:
—¿Para qué necesitamos más testigos? ¡Lo hemos escuchado de su propia boca!
