“By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth; I sought him, but I found him not.
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
“On my bed night after night [I dreamed that] I sought the one Whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him.
In the night I dreamed that I sought the one whom I love. [She said] I looked for him but could not find him.
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
In my bed at night I sought the one I love; I sought him, but did not find him.
In my bed at night I sought the one I love; I sought him, but did not find him.
Upon my bed, night after night, I looked for the one whom I love with all my heart. I looked for him but couldn’t find him.
Night after night on my bed I looked for the man I love. I looked for him, but I didn’t find him.
While in bed at night, I reached for the one I love with heart and soul. I looked for him, but he wasn't there.
On my bed, in the nights, I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
In my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, and found him not.
At night on my bed, I look for the man I love. I looked for him, but I could not find him.
All night I lay on my bed. I wanted my lover to come to me. I looked for him but he did not appear.
All night long on my bed I sought the one my soul loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not.
On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not.

Asleep on my bed, night after night I dreamed of the one I love; I was looking for him, but couldn't find him.

On my bed in the night, I sought him whom my heart loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
The Girl: “One night my lover was missing from my bed. I got up to look for him but couldn’t find him.
Restless in bed and sleepless through the night, I longed for my lover. I wanted him desperately. His absence was painful. So I got up, went out and roved the city, hunting through streets and down alleys. I wanted my lover in the worst way! I looked high and low, and didn’t find him. And then the night watchmen found me as they patrolled the darkened city. “Have you seen my dear lost love?” I asked. No sooner had I left them than I found him, found my dear lost love. I threw my arms around him and held him tight, wouldn’t let him go until I had him home again, safe at home beside the fire.

Night after night on my bed I looked for the one I love. I looked for him but did not find him.

All night long on my bed I longed for my lover. I longed for him but he never appeared.
“All night long on my bed I searched for the one my heart loves. I looked for him but didn’t find him.
All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him.

By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him.

One night as I lay in bed, I yearned for my lover. I yearned for him, but he did not come.
Upon my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not; I called him, but he gave no answer.

Her: Restless night after night in my bed, I longed and looked for my soul’s true love; I searched for him, but I could not find him.
By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.
In my little bed, I sought him by nights, whom my soul loveth; I sought him, and I found not. (In my little bed, night after night, I sought him, whom my soul loveth; I sought him, but I could not find him.)
On my couch by night, I sought him whom my soul hath loved; I sought him, and I found him not!
