It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof; an image was before mine eyes. There was silence and I heard a voice, saying,

It stopped. I didn’t recognize its visible form, although a figure was in front of my eyes. Silence! Then I heard a voice:
It stood still, but I couldn’t make out its appearance; yet the form stayed there before my eyes. Then I heard a subdued voice:
It stopped and stood still. Then a form appeared— a shapeless form. And from the silence, I heard a voice say,
It stood still; I could not discern the appearance thereof: a form was before mine eyes; I heard a slight murmur and a voice:
There stood one whose countenance I knew not, an image before my eyes, and I heard the voice as it were of a gentle wind:

Something stopped and it stood in front of me. I could not recognize its shape. Then I heard a quiet voice say:

Then stood one, and I knew not his face: an image was before mine eyes, and in silence heard I a voice, saying,
Something stood there. I couldn’t tell what it was. A vague image was in front of my eyes. I heard a soft voice:
I could see something standing there; I stared, but couldn't tell what it was. Then I heard a voice out of the silence:
A figure stood there, but I could not recognize its appearance; a form loomed before my eyes. I heard a quiet voice:

It remained standing, but I couldn’t recognize its appearance. A form appeared before my eyes; At first there was silence, and then this voice:
A ghost stood in front of me, whose face I did not recognize, and I heard it say,

I felt the spirit’s presence, but couldn’t see it standing there. Then out of the dreadful silence came this voice:
“A word came to me in secret— a mere whisper of a word, but I heard it clearly. It came in a scary dream one night, after I had fallen into a deep, deep sleep. Dread stared me in the face, and Terror. I was scared to death—I shook from head to foot. A spirit glided right in front of me— the hair on my head stood on end. I couldn’t tell what it was that appeared there— a blur . . . and then I heard a muffled voice:
It stood still, but I could not recognize its appearance; a form was in front of my eyes, there was stillness, then I heard a voice saying:
Something stood there. I couldn’t tell what it was. A vague image was in front of my eyes. I heard a soft voice:
It paused, but its likeness I could not recognize; a figure was before my eyes, in silence I heard a voice:

It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,
One stood, whose cheer, or likeness, I knew not, an image before mine eyes; and I heard a voice as of [a] soft wind. (And something stood, whose face, or likeness, I knew not, or could not see, yea, there was a figure before my eyes; and I heard a voice like a soft wind.)
It standeth, and I discern not its aspect, A similitude [is] over-against mine eyes, Silence! and a voice I hear:
