Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah

You have set up a banner for those who fear You [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder—a banner to shield them from attack], A banner that may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
[But now] You have set up a banner for those who fear and worshipfully revere You [to which they may flee from the bow], a standard displayed because of the truth. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

You have given a signal flag to those who fear you, so that they can flee before the archers.Selah
Give a flag to those who honor you, so they can rally around it, safe from attack. Selah
You made the land shake, split it apart; now repair the rifts, for it is collapsing.
You gave a signal to those who worship you, so they could escape from enemy arrows.
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth, (Selah,)
For thou hast been my hope; a tower of strength against the face of the enemy.
But you have provided a flag to show your faithful followers where to gather to escape the enemy’s attack. Selah
But you have lifted up a flag for the people who serve you. They can meet together there, to be safe in the battle. Selah.
You have set up a signal flag for those who fear you, Interlude to be raised up against the bow.
You have set up a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah

But you have given us a banner to rally to; all who love truth will rally to it; then you can deliver your beloved people. Use your strong right arm to rescue us.
You made your people look doom in the face, then gave us cheap wine to drown our troubles. Then you planted a flag to rally your people, an unfurled flag to look to for courage. Now do something quickly, answer right now, so the one you love best is saved.
