“Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his own wickedness.”
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.
“Look, [this is] the man who would not make God his strength [his stronghold and fortress], But trusted in the abundance of his riches, Taking refuge in his wealth.”
See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness.
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
“Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior.”
“Look at them! They didn’t make God their refuge. Instead, they trusted in their own great wealth. They sought refuge in it—to their own destruction!”
This is why God will strike you down, seize you, pluck you from your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. (Selah)
“Just look at them now! Instead of trusting God, they trusted their wealth and their cruelty.”
Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, [and] strengthened himself in his avarice.
Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
“Look what happened to the warrior who did not depend on God. That fool thought his wealth and lies would protect him.”
‘Look! This man did not trust God to keep him safe. Instead, he trusted in his riches. He thought that he could be cruel, and that would keep him safe.’
“Look, here is the man who did not make God his stronghold, but trusted in the greatness of his wealth. He grew strong by his destructive deeds!”

Behold the man that took not God for his strength, but trusteth unto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength in his malice.
“Look at this person who refused to make God his fortress! Instead, he trusted his great wealth and became strong through his greed.”
“Look, here is someone who did not depend on God for safety, but trusted instead in great wealth and looked for security in being wicked.”
“Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior.”

“Look, here is a young man who refused to make God his strength; instead, he trusted in his great wealth and made his wickedness his strength.

Good people will watch and worship. They’ll laugh in relief: “Big Man bet on the wrong horse, trusted in big money, made his living from catastrophe.”
“See, this is the man who did not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of riches, and grew strong in his own wickedness.”
“Look at this person who refused to make Elohim his fortress! Instead, he trusted his great wealth and became strong through his greed.”
God too will strike you down forever, he will lay hold of you and pluck you from your tent, uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

This is the reason why God will crush you and destroy you once and for all. He will snatch you from your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
