I pray that ·victory [salvation] will come to Israel from Mount Zion [C the location of the Temple, the house of God]! May God ·bring them back [restore the fortunes of his people; C perhaps at the end of the exile]. Then the people of Jacob will rejoice, and the people of Israel will be glad.
They are going to fear his name with great fear, though they had not feared it before. For God will scatter the bones of those encamped against you. They will surely be put to shame, for God has rejected them.
Oh, I wish our time of rescue were already here. Oh, that God would come forth now— arising from the midst of his Zion-people to save and restore his very own. When God fully restores his people, Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be filled with gladness!
Who shall give from Zion health to Israel? when the Lord hath turned the captivity of his people, Jacob shall full out make joy, and Israel shall be glad. (Who shall give victory/Who shall give salvation, or deliverance, to Israel out of Zion? When the Lord hath returned the prosperity of his people, then Jacob shall make full out joy, or rejoice; yea, Israel shall be glad.)
