“‘But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him anything without lying in wait,
But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled upon him anything without lying in wait,
‘But if he pushed the victim suddenly, not in enmity, or threw anything at him without malicious intent,
But if he stabbed him suddenly without enmity or threw anything at or upon him without lying in wait
But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,
“But if anyone suddenly pushes a person without hostility or throws any object at him without malicious intent
But if suddenly and without hostility someone hits another or throws any object at him without premeditation,
“‘But suppose he shoves him suddenly, but without hostility; or he throws something at him unintentionally;
But if you are not angry and accidentally kill someone in any of these ways, the townspeople must hold a trial and decide if you are guilty.
But if he have thrust at him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him anything unintentionally,
But if by chance medley, and without hatred,
“You might accidentally kill someone, maybe by pushing or by accidentally hitting them with a tool or weapon.
But when a man kills another person, it might be a mistake. For example, he might push someone very hard, or he might throw something at another person. If he did not hate the other person, then it might be a mistake.
But if a person pushes someone suddenly without hostility or throws any object at him without malicious intent,
“But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or hurled anything on him without lying in wait
“But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or hurled anything on him without lying in wait
“‘But a person might suddenly shove someone, and not from hatred. Or a person might ·accidentally [without lying in wait] throw something and ·hit [L strike] someone.
But if he pushed him unadvisedly, and not of hatred, or cast upon him anything, without laying of wait,
“But suppose you accidentally kill someone who wasn’t your enemy. Maybe you shoved him or threw something at him but didn’t mean to kill him.
“But suppose you accidentally kill someone you do not hate, whether by pushing him down or by throwing something at him.
“But if anyone suddenly pushes a person without hostility or throws any object at him without malicious intent
“‘But a person might suddenly shove someone. He did not hate the person. Or he might accidentally throw something and hit someone.
“But if he pushed him suddenly without hatred, or if he hurled something in his direction without waiting in ambush,
But if he thrusts him suddenly without enmity, or has cast upon him any thing without laying in wait,
But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,
But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,
‘But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity or threw something at him without lying in wait,
“‘Or if in an instant he shoved him, not in hostility, or threw something at him without intention,
“But if it is an accident—a case in which something is thrown unintentionally, or in which a stone is thrown without anger, without realizing it will hit anyone, and without wanting to harm an enemy—yet the man dies,
“If, however, he impulsively pushes someone and there is no history of hard feelings, or he impetuously picks up something and throws it, or he accidentally drops a stone tool—a maul or hammer, say—and it hits and kills someone he didn’t even know was there, and there’s no suspicion that there was bad blood between them, the community is to judge between the killer and the avenger following these guidelines. It’s the task of the community to save the killer from the hand of the avenger—the community is to return him to his asylum-city to which he fled. He must stay there until the death of the High Priest who was anointed with the holy oil. But if the murderer leaves the asylum-city to which he has fled, and the avenger finds him outside the borders of his asylum-city, the avenger has a right to kill the murderer. And he’s not considered guilty of murder.
But if he pushed him suddenly without hatred, or threw anything at him without lying in wait,
“But suppose you accidentally kill someone who wasn’t your enemy. Maybe you shoved him or threw something at him but didn’t mean to kill him.
However, if someone pushes another without malice aforethought, or without lying in ambush throws some object at another,
‘But if he pushed him suddenly, without hostility, or threw any object at him without malicious intent,
‘But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or threw something at him without lying in wait,
“ ‘But if someone without bitterness pushes another person or throws something at him without his lying in wait,
“‘But a person might suddenly shove someone, and not from hatred. Or a person might accidentally throw something and hit someone.
“But if he strikes him suddenly, without enmity, or throws anything at him unintentionally,
“ ‘But what if a person suddenly pushes someone else without being angry? Or what if that person throws something at someone else without meaning to?
“‘But if without enmity someone suddenly pushes another or throws something at them unintentionally
‘“But if without enmity someone suddenly pushes another or throws something at them unintentionally
‘However, if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws anything at him without lying in wait,
‘But if he pushed him without planning to and without hating him, or threw something at him without having waited for him,
“But suppose someone pushes another person without having shown previous hostility, or throws something that unintentionally hits another person,
But if someone pushes another suddenly without enmity, or hurls any object without lying in wait,
But if someone pushes another suddenly without enmity, or hurls any object without lying in wait,
But if someone pushes another suddenly without enmity, or hurls any object without lying in wait,
“But if someone pushes another suddenly without enmity or hurls any object without lying in wait,
But if he push him suddenly without eivah (enmity), or have thrown upon him any keli with no tzediyyah (intention, laying in wait),
“But if he stabbed him suddenly without enmity, or hurled anything on him without lying in wait,
“But if he stabbed him suddenly without enmity, or hurled anything on him without lying in wait,
But if he pushes him suddenly or throws an object at him with no intent,
Sometimes it happens, though, that a person pushes his friend or acquaintance, throws an object, or happens to drop a heavy stone on someone else without any intention of hurting (much less killing) the person, but the other person happens to die from it. The guilty person should be able to take refuge in one of the six designated cities, safe from the one who would avenge the death he caused. Then people from among the greater community shall judge whether it was indeed an accident or not. When the congregation determines it was an accident, the person who accidentally killed shall be saved from the blood avenger. He must live within the city of refuge, though. If he leaves it, the blood avenger is allowed to kill him with impunity because the man knew not to leave his sanctuary city. However, once the anointed high priest of Israel dies, that restriction shall be lifted, and the person who unintentionally killed another may return home, free and clear.
“‘But if he shoved him suddenly without hostility, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,
That if by sudden case, and without hatred and enmities, a man doeth anything of these; (But if, on the spur of the moment, or by accident, and without any hatred or enmities, someone doeth any of these things;)
`And if, in an instant, without enmity, he hath thrust him through, or hath cast at him any instrument, without lying in wait;
