“When you sound short blasts, the camps pitched on the east are to set out.
When you blow a series of short blasts, the camp on the east side will march.
“When you sound an alarm, the camps to the east will commence traveling.
Give a signal on a trumpet when it is time to break camp. The first blast will be the signal for the tribes camped on the east side, and the second blast will be the signal for those on the south.
And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie eastward shall set forward.
But if the sound of the trumpets be longer, and with interruptions, they that are on the east side, shall first go forward.
“Short blasts on the trumpets will be the way to tell the people to move the camp. The first time you blow a short blast on the trumpets, the tribes camping on the east side of the Meeting Tent must begin to move.
But when the sound is one short sound, the tribes on the east side of the camp must start to travel.
When you blow the signal on the trumpets, the camps that are on the east side will set out.

“Different trumpet blasts will be necessary to distinguish between the summons to assemble and the signal to break camp and move onward. When the travel signal is blown, the tribes camped on the east side of the Tabernacle shall leave first; at the second signal, the tribes on the south shall go.
“When a bugle gives a single, short blast, that’s the signal for the leaders, the heads of the clans, to assemble. When it gives a long blast, that’s the signal to march. At the first blast the tribes who were camped on the east set out. At the second blast the camps on the south set out. The long blasts are the signals to march. The bugle call that gathers the assembly is different from the signal to march.
