When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid; by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: By reason of consternation they are beside themselves.
“When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
When [the crocodile] raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; because of terror and the crashing they are beside themselves.
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
When Leviathan rises, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw because of his thrashing.
The divine beings dread his rising; they withdraw before his thrashing.
“On earth there is nothing like him, a creature without fear.
When this noisy monster appears, even the most powerful turn and run in fear.
When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: they are beside themselves with consternation.
He beholdeth every high thing, he is king over all the children of pride.
When he gets up, even the strongest people are afraid. They run away when he swings his tail.
Even the bravest people are afraid when Leviathan appears. They run away when it starts to move.
When he rises up, the mighty are afraid. When he thrashes around, they retreat.
When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; at the crashing they are beside themselves.
When he raises himself up the mighty are afraid; at the crashing they are beside themselves.
The ·powerful [mighty; or gods] fear ·its terrible looks [L when it lifts itself up] and ·draw back in fear as it moves [or the waves miss their mark/retreat].
He beholdeth all high things: he is a King over all the children of pride.
“The mighty are afraid when Leviathan rises. Broken down, they draw back.
When he rises up, even the strongest are frightened; they are helpless with fear.
When Leviathan rises, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw because of his thrashing.
Powerful creatures fear his terrible looks. They draw back in fear as he moves.
When he rears up, the mighty are terrified; they are bewildered as he thrashes about.
Of his greatness, the mighty are afraid; by reason of breakings they remove sin from themselves.
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.

When it raises itself up, the mighty fear, Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
When it raises itself, the mighty ones are terrified; they retreat because of its thrashing.
When he stands up, the strongest are afraid. Terror grips them.
“He snorts and the world lights up with fire, he blinks and the dawn breaks. Comets pour out of his mouth, fireworks arc and branch. Smoke erupts from his nostrils like steam from a boiling pot. He blows and fires blaze; flames of fire stream from his mouth. All muscle he is—sheer and seamless muscle. To meet him is to dance with death. Sinewy and lithe, there’s not a soft spot in his entire body— As tough inside as out, rock-hard, invulnerable. Even angels run for cover when he surfaces, cowering before his tail-thrashing turbulence. Javelins bounce harmlessly off his hide, harpoons ricochet wildly. Iron bars are so much straw to him, bronze weapons beneath notice. Arrows don’t even make him blink; bullets make no more impression than raindrops. A battle ax is nothing but a splinter of kindling; he treats a brandished harpoon as a joke. His belly is armor-plated, inexorable— unstoppable as a barge. He roils deep ocean the way you’d boil water, he whips the sea like you’d whip an egg into batter. With a luminous trail stretching out behind him, you might think Ocean had grown a gray beard! There’s nothing on this earth quite like him, not an ounce of fear in that creature! He surveys all the high and mighty— king of the ocean, king of the deep!”
When he raises up himself even the gods are afraid; because of his crashings they are beside themselves.
“The mighty are afraid when Leviathan rises. Broken down, they draw back.
Upon the earth there is none like him, he was made fearless.
When he rises up, the mighty are afraid; Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
“When he raises himself up, the mighty fear; Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
It has no equal upon the earth; it is a creature that is utterly fearless.
The powerful fear its terrible looks and draw back in fear as it moves.
When it rises up, the mighty are terrified, at its thrashing about they withdraw.
When Leviathan rises up, even mighty people are terrified. They run away when it moves around wildly.
When it rises up, the mighty are terrified; they retreat before its thrashing.
When it rises up, the mighty are terrified; they retreat before its thrashing.

When it rises, the mighty are afraid, gripped by terror.

Nothing on dry land is his equal— a creature without fear.
When the beast rises up and moves near, the mighty ones shudder in fear; when it crashes down, they retreat.
When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing.
When he shall be taken away, angels shall dread; and they afeared shall be purged. (When he raiseth himself up, even the mighty shall be afraid; and they who be afraid shall be purged, or shall be purified.)
From his rising are the mighty afraid, From breakings they keep themselves free.
