And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies,
And it came to pass, when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest from all his enemies round about,
When King David lived in his house (palace) and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,
When King David dwelt in his house and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,

King David moved into his new palace, and the Lord let his kingdom be at peace.
And it came to pass when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest round about from all his enemies,
And it came to pass when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
After King David moved into his new house the Lord gave him some relief from all of his enemies around him.
The king was living in his palace. The Lord kept him safe from all his enemies everywhere.
It happened that when the king was living in his palace, and when the Lord had given him rest from his enemies all around,
Now when the king lived in his house and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,
Now when the king lived in his house and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,
King David was living in his ·palace [L house], and the Lord had given him ·peace [L rest] from all his enemies ·around [L sur-rounding] him [Deut. 12:10; C apparently a sign that the conquest of Canaan was complete and the Temple should be built].

While King David was living in his house, the Lord gave him peace with all his enemies around him.
King David was settled in his palace, and the Lord kept him safe from all his enemies.
When the king had settled into his palace and the Lord had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
King David was living in his palace. And the Lord gave him peace from all his enemies around him.
After the king had settled down in his palace and the Lord had given him respite from all of his surrounding enemies,
¶ And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him,
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
Now it happened when the king inhabited his house, and Yahweh had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
It happened that the king settled in his house. (Now Yahweh had given rest to him from all his enemies all around.)
When the Lord finally sent peace upon the land, and Israel was no longer at war with the surrounding nations,
Before long, the king made himself at home and God gave him peace from all his enemies. Then one day King David said to Nathan the prophet, “Look at this: Here I am, comfortable in a luxurious house of cedar, and the Chest of God sits in a plain tent.”
Now when the king settled into his house and the Lord had given him rest from all of his enemies on all sides,
While King David was living in his house, Yahweh gave him peace with all his enemies around him.
After the king had taken up residence in his house, and the Lord had given him rest from his enemies on every side,
Now it came about, when the king lived in his house, and the Lord had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
