“Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria: ‘Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?

“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘In what do you trust that you are remaining in Jerusalem under siege?
Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: On what do you trust, that you remain in the strongholds in Jerusalem?
Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: ‘What are you relying on that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
This is what Assyria’s King Sennacherib says: What makes you so confident that you stay put in Jerusalem while it is being attacked?
“This is what Sancheriv king of Ashur says: ‘What gives you the confidence that you can endure a siege against Yerushalayim?
I am King Sennacherib of Assyria, and I have Jerusalem surrounded. Do you think you can survive my attack?
Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: On what do ye rely that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?
Thus saith Sennacherib king of the Assyrians: In whom do you trust, that you sit still besieged in Jerusalem?
They said, “King Sennacherib of Assyria says this: ‘What do you trust in that makes you stay under attack in Jerusalem?
‘King Sennacherib of Assyria says this to you: My soldiers have made their camp around Jerusalem. So why do you remain in the city? Why are you so sure that someone will rescue you?
Sennacherib’s officials proclaimed: This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says. What are you relying on as you sit there under siege in Jerusalem?
“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting, that you endure the siege in Jerusalem?
“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting, that you endure the siege in Jerusalem?
Sennacherib king of Assyria says this: “·You have nothing to trust in [L On what are you trusting…?] to help you. ·It is no use for you to [L Why do you…?] stay in Jerusalem under ·attack [siege].
Thus saith Sennacherib the king of Assyria, Wherein do ye trust, that ye will remain in Jerusalem, during the siege?
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: Why are you so confident as you live in Jerusalem while it is blockaded?
“I, Sennacherib, Emperor of Assyria, ask what gives you people the confidence to remain in Jerusalem under siege.
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: ‘What are you relying on that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
Sennacherib king of Assyria says this: “You have nothing to trust in to help you. It is no use for you to stay in Jerusalem under attack.
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: ‘What are you leaning on that makes you stay behind while Jerusalem comes under siege?
Thus hath said Sennacherib, king of Assyria, In whom do ye trust that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?

“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting that you are remaining in Jerusalem under siege?
“Thus says Sennacherib the king of Assyria: ‘On what are you relying that you are dwelling in siege works in Jerusalem?
“King Sennacherib of Assyria asks, ‘Do you think you can survive my siege of Jerusalem?
Later on, Sennacherib, who had set up camp a few miles away at Lachish, sent messengers to Jerusalem, addressing Judah through Hezekiah: “A proclamation of Sennacherib king of Assyria: You poor people—do you think you’re safe in that so-called fortress of Jerusalem? You’re sitting ducks. Do you think Hezekiah will save you? Don’t be stupid—Hezekiah has fed you a pack of lies. When he says, ‘God will save us from the power of the king of Assyria,’ he’s lying—you’re all going to end up dead. Wasn’t it Hezekiah who cleared out all the neighborhood worship shrines and told you, ‘There is only one legitimate place to worship’? Do you have any idea what I and my ancestors have done to all the countries around here? Has there been a single god anywhere strong enough to stand up against me? Can you name one god among all the nations that either I or my ancestors have ravaged that so much as lifted a finger against me? So what makes you think you’ll make out any better with your god? Don’t let Hezekiah fool you; don’t let him get by with his barefaced lies; don’t trust him. No god of any country or kingdom ever has been one bit of help against me or my ancestors—what kind of odds does that give your god?”
“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: By what do you all trust that you remain in a besieged Jerusalem?
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: Why are you so confident as you live in Jerusalem while it is blockaded?
“Thus says Sennacherib, king of Assyria: In what are you trusting, now that you are under siege in Jerusalem?
“This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: ‘On what are you trusting that you are staying in Jerusalem under siege?
“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting that you are remaining in Jerusalem under siege?
“King Sennacherib of Assyria has this to say: What gives you the confidence to remain in Jerusalem while it is under siege?
Sennacherib king of Assyria says this: “You have nothing to trust in to help you. It is no use for you to stay in Jerusalem under attack.
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: ‘Why are you so confident that you remain in Jerusalem while it is under siege?
“Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, says, ‘Why are you putting your faith in what your king says? Why do you remain in Jerusalem when you are surrounded?
“This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: On what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
‘This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: on what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: ‘In what do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?
“King Sennacherib of Assyria says, ‘On what do you trust, that you are staying in Jerusalem with my army around you?
“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: What are you trusting in that makes you think you can survive my siege of Jerusalem?
‘Thus says King Sennacherib of Assyria: On what are you relying, that you undergo the siege of Jerusalem?
‘Thus says King Sennacherib of Assyria: On what are you relying, that you undergo the siege of Jerusalem?
“Thus says King Sennacherib of Assyria: On what are you relying, that you undergo the siege of Jerusalem?
“Thus says King Sennacherib of Assyria: On what are you relying, that you undergo the siege of Jerusalem?
Thus saith Sancheriv melech Assyria, Whereon do ye base confidence, that ye abide in the siege in Yerushalayim?
“Thus says Sennach′erib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you relying, that you stand siege in Jerusalem?
“Thus says Sennach′erib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you relying, that you stand siege in Jerusalem?
“Thus says King Sennacherib of Assyria, ‘What are you relying on that you would stay in Jerusalem, under siege?
Sennacherib’s Message: Why are you remaining in Jerusalem when you know I am about to come destroy your city? What could you possibly be trusting that could save you from my army?
Sennacherib king of Assyria says, “In whom do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?
Sennacherib, king of Assyrians, saith these things, In whom have ye trust, and sit besieged in Jerusalem? (Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, saith these things, In whom do ye trust, when ye now sit besieged in Jerusalem?)
`Thus said Sennacherib king of Asshur, On what are ye trusting and abiding in the bulwark, in Jerusalem?
