Azmaveth the son of Adiel was in charge of the king’s personal storage rooms. Jonathan the son of Uzziah was in charge of the king’s other storerooms that were in the towns, the villages, and the defense towers in Israel.
This is the list of men who were responsible for the king’s property: Azmaveth son of Adiel was in charge of the king’s storerooms. Jonathan son of Uzziah was in charge of the storerooms in the small towns, villages, fields, and towers.
Azmaveth son of Adiel was in charge of the royal ·storehouses [treasuries]. Jonathan son of Uzziah was in charge of the ·storehouses [treasuries] in the country, towns, villages, and ·towers [fortresses].

And over the treasury rooms of the king was Azmaveth the son of Adiel. And over the treasuries in the country, in the cities, in the unwalled villages, and in the towers was Jonathan the son of Uzziah.
Azmaveth (son of Adiel) was the chief financial officer in charge of the palace treasuries, and Jonathan (son of Uzziah) was chief of the regional treasuries throughout the cities, villages, and fortresses of Israel.
These are other officials in David’s government: Azmaveth (son of Adiel) managed the king’s own storehouses. Jonathan (son of Uzziah) managed the storehouses that did not belong directly to the king in the country, cities, villages, and towers.
Forsooth Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was (sovereign) on the treasuries of the king; but Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah, was sovereign over these treasures, that were in cities, and in towns, and in towers. (And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was in charge of the king’s treasuries; and Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah, was in charge of his treasures, or of his treasuries, that were in the cities, and in the towns, and in the towers.)
