Psalm 13

How Long, O Yahweh?

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

13 How long, O Yahweh? Will You (A)forget me forever?
How long (B)will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I (C)take counsel in my soul,
Having (D)sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

(E)Look and answer me, O Yahweh my God;
(F)Give light to my eyes, lest I (G)sleep the sleep of death,
Lest my enemy (H)says, “I have overcome him,”
And (I)my adversaries rejoice that I am shaken.

But I have (J)trusted in Your lovingkindness;
My heart shall (K)rejoice in Your salvation.
I will (L)sing to Yahweh,
Because He has (M)dealt bountifully with me.

2 Chronicles 20:5-12

Jehoshaphat Before the Assembly

Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Yahweh before the new court, and he said, “O Yahweh, the God of our fathers, (A)are You not God in the heavens? And (B)are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can take their stand against You. Did You not, O our God, dispossess the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and (C)give it to the seed of (D)Abraham Your friend forever? And they have lived in it, and have built You a sanctuary there for Your name, saying, (E)Should evil come upon us, the sword, or judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for (F)Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our distress, and You will hear and save us.’ 10 So now, behold, (G)the sons of Ammon and Moab and [a]Mount Seir, (H)whom You did not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt (they turned aside from them and did not destroy them), 11 and behold, they are rewarding us by (I)coming to drive us out from Your possession which You have caused us to possess. 12 O our God, (J)will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; and we do not know what we should do, but (K)our eyes are on You.”

Galatians 5:7-12

You were (A)running well; who hindered you from [a]obeying the truth? This persuasion is not from (B)Him who calls you. (C)A little leaven leavens the whole lump. 10 (D)I have confidence [b]in you in the Lord that you (E)will adopt no other view. But the one who is (F)disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. 11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still (G)persecuted? Then (H)the stumbling block of the cross would have been abolished. 12 I wish that (I)those who are upsetting you would even [c](J)mutilate themselves.
