Psalm 27:1-6

Yahweh Is My Light and My Salvation

Of David.

27 Yahweh is my (A)light and my (B)salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the [a](C)strong defense of my life;
(D)Whom shall I dread?
When evildoers came upon me to (E)devour my flesh,
My adversaries and my enemies, they (F)stumbled and fell.
Though a (G)host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In this I (H)trust.

(I)One thing I have asked from Yahweh, that I shall seek:
That I may (J)dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life,
To behold (K)the [b]beauty of Yahweh
And to (L)inquire in His temple.
For in the (M)day of calamity He will (N)conceal me in His shelter;
In the secret place of His tent He will (O)hide me;
He will (P)lift me up on a rock.
And now (Q)my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent (R)sacrifices with loud shouts of joy;
I will (S)sing, and I will sing praises to Yahweh.

1 Samuel 9:27-10:8

27 As they were going down to the edge of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Say to the young man that he might pass before us and pass onwards, but you remain standing now, that I may cause you to hear the word of God.”

Saul Among the Prophets

10 Then (A)Samuel took the flask of oil, poured it on his head, (B)kissed him, and said, “Has not (C)Yahweh anointed you a ruler over (D)His inheritance? When you go from me today, then you will find two men close to (E)Rachel’s tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, ‘(F)The donkeys which you went to search for have been found. Now behold, your father has [a]ceased to be concerned about the donkeys and is anxious for you, saying, “What shall I do about my son?”’ Then you will go on further from there, and you will come as far as the [b](G)oak of Tabor, and there three men going up (H)to God at Bethel will meet you, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a jug of wine; and they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread. And you will take them from their hand. Afterward you will come to [c](I)the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is; and it shall be as soon as you have come there to the city, that you will meet (J)a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and a lyre before them, and (K)they will be prophesying. Then (L)the Spirit of Yahweh will [d]come upon you mightily, and (M)you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man. Now it will be when these signs come to you, (N)do for yourself whatever your hand finds to do, for (O)God is with you. And (P)you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and (Q)sacrifice peace offerings. (R)You shall wait seven days until I come to you and make you know what you should do.”

Galatians 2:1-10

Paul Accepted by the Apostles

Then after fourteen years I (A)went up again to Jerusalem with (B)Barnabas, taking (C)Titus along also. And I went up [a]because of a (D)revelation, and I laid out to them the (E)gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, lest somehow I might be (F)running, or had run, in vain. But not even (G)Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was (H)compelled to be circumcised. But this was because of the (I)false brothers secretly brought in, who (J)had sneaked in to spy out our (K)freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to (L)enslave us. But we did not yield in subjection to them for even [b]a moment, so that (M)the truth of the gospel would remain with you. But from those who [c]were of high (N)reputation (what they were makes no difference to me; (O)God [d]shows no partiality)—well, those who were of reputation contributed nothing to me. But on the contrary, seeing that I had been (P)entrusted with the (Q)gospel [e]to the uncircumcised, just as (R)Peter had been [f]to the circumcised (for He who worked in Peter unto his (S)apostleship [g]to the circumcised worked in me also unto the Gentiles), and recognizing (T)the grace that had been given to me, (U)James and (V)Cephas and [h]John, who were (W)reputed to be (X)pillars, gave to me and (Y)Barnabas the (Z)right [i]hand of fellowship, so that we might (AA)go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 Only they asked us to remember the poor—(AB)the very thing I also was eager to do.
