Psalm 72:1-7

Give the King Your Judgments

Of Solomon.

72 O God, give the king (A)Your judgments,
And (B)Your righteousness to the king’s son.
[a]May [b]he (C)render judgment to Your people with righteousness
And (D)Your [c]afflicted with justice.
Let the mountains lift up [d](E)peace to the people,
And the hills, in righteousness.
[e]May he (F)give justice to the [f]afflicted of the people,
Save the children of the needy,
And crush the oppressor.

[g]Let them fear You (G)while the sun endures,
And [h]as long as the moon, from generation to all generations.
[i]May he come down (H)like rain upon the mown grass,
Like (I)showers that water the earth.
[j]May the (J)righteous flourish in his days,
And (K)abundance of peace until the moon is no more.

Psalm 72:18-19

18 (A)Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel,
Who alone (B)works wondrous deeds.
19 And blessed be His (C)glorious name forever;
And may the whole (D)earth be filled with His glory.
(E)Amen, and Amen.

Isaiah 4:2-6

The Branch of Yahweh Glorified

In that day the (A)Branch of Yahweh will be beautiful and glorious, and the (B)fruit of the earth will be the pride and the [a]honor of (C)those of Israel who escape. It will be that he who (D)remains in Zion and is left in Jerusalem will be called (E)holy—everyone who is (F)written down for life in Jerusalem. When the Lord has washed away the filth of the (G)daughters of Zion and rinsed away the (H)bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the (I)spirit of judgment and the (J)spirit of burning, then Yahweh will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her convocation (K)a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the (L)glory will be a canopy. And there will be a (M)booth to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and a hiding place from the storm and the rain.

Acts 1:12-17

Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas

12 Then they (A)returned to Jerusalem from the [a](B)mount called [b]Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a [c]Sabbath day’s journey away. 13 And when they had entered the city, they went up to (C)the upper room where they were staying; (D)that is, Peter and John and [d]James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and (E)Judas the [e]son of James. 14 These all with one accord (F)were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with (G)the women, and Mary the (H)mother of Jesus, and His (I)brothers.

15 And in those days, Peter stood up in the midst of (J)the brothers (a crowd of about 120 [f]persons was there together), and said, 16 “Men, brothers, (K)the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, (L)who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. 17 For he was (M)counted among us and received his share in (N)this ministry.”

Acts 1:21-26

21 Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that (A)the Lord Jesus went in and out [a]among us— 22 (B)beginning [b]with the baptism of John until the day that He (C)was taken up from us—one of these must become a (D)witness with us of His resurrection.” 23 And they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and (E)Matthias. 24 And they (F)prayed and said, “You, Lord, (G)who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen 25 to take the place of (H)this ministry and (I)apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26 And they [c](J)cast lots for them, and the lot fell [d]to (K)Matthias; and he was [e]added to (L)the eleven apostles.
