Psalm 117

Psalm 117[a]

117 Praise the Lord, all you nations.
Applaud him, all you foreigners.[b]
For his loyal love towers[c] over us,
and the Lord’s faithfulness endures.
Praise the Lord.

Jeremiah 30:18-24

The Lord Will Restore Israel and Judah

18 The Lord says:

“I will restore the ruined houses of the descendants of Jacob.
I will show compassion on their ruined homes.[a]
Every city will be rebuilt on its former ruins.[b]
Every fortified dwelling will occupy its traditional site.[c]
19 Out of those places you will hear songs of thanksgiving[d]
and the sounds of laughter and merriment.
I will increase their number and they will not dwindle away.[e]
I will bring them honor and they will no longer be despised.
20 The descendants of Jacob will enjoy their former privileges.
Their community will be reestablished in my favor,[f]
and I will punish all who try to oppress them.
21 One of their own people will be their leader.
Their ruler will come from their own number.[g]
I will invite him to approach me, and he will do so.[h]
For no one would dare approach me on his own.[i]
I, the Lord, affirm it![j]
22 Then you will again be my people,
and I will be your God.[k]
23 Just watch! The wrath of the Lord
will come like a storm.
Like a raging storm it will rage down
on the heads of those who are wicked.
24 The anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has fully carried out his intended purposes.
In future days you will come to understand this.[l]

Revelation 22:8-21

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things,[a] and when I heard and saw them,[b] I threw myself down[c] to worship at the feet of the angel who was showing them to me. But[d] he said to me, “Do not do this![e] I am a fellow servant[f] with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obey[g] the words of this book. Worship God!” 10 Then[h] he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near. 11 The evildoer must continue to do evil,[i] and the one who is morally filthy[j] must continue to be filthy. The[k] one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”

12 (Look ! I am coming soon,
and my reward is with me to pay[l] each one according to what he has done!
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end!)[m]

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access[n] to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers[o] and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood![p]

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”[q] 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described[r] in this book. 19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life[s] and in the holy city that are described in this book.

20 The one who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.[t]
