126 Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.

² It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,

³ Behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.

⁴ As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.

⁵ Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.

⁷ And the days of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five years.

⁸ And decaying he died in a good old age, and having lived a long time, and being full of days: and was gathered to his people.

⁹ And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;

¹⁰ Which he had bought of the children of Heth: there was he buried, and Sara his wife.

¹¹ And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.

¹³ Whereunto also he hath called you by our gospel, unto the purchasing of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

¹⁵ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God and our Father, who hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation, and good hope in grace,

¹⁶ Exhort your hearts, and confirm you in every good work and word.

3 For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of God may run, and may be glorified, even as among you;

² And that we may be delivered from importunate and evil men; for all men have not faith.

³ But God is faithful, who will strengthen and keep you from evil.

⁴ And we have confidence concerning you in the Lord, that the things which we command, you both do, and will do.

⁵ And the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God, and the patience of Christ.
