Version
Psalm 31:1-5

A Psalm of Complaint and of Praise.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

31 (A)In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never (B)be ashamed;
(C)In Your righteousness deliver me.
(D)Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;
Be to me a (E)rock of [a]strength,
A stronghold to save me.
For You are my [b]rock and (F)my fortress;
For (G)Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
You will (H)pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my (I)strength.
(J)Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have (K)ransomed me, O Lord, (L)God of [c]truth.

Psalm 31:15-16

15 My (A)times are in Your hand;
(B)Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your (C)face to shine upon Your servant;
(D)Save me in Your lovingkindness.

Genesis 12:1-3

Abram Journeys to Egypt

12 Now (A)the Lord said to Abram,

[a]Go forth from your country,
And from your relatives
And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you;
And (B)I will make you a great nation,
And (C)I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And so [b](D)you shall be a blessing;
And (E)I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who [c]curses you I will [d]curse.
(F)And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Acts 6:8-15

And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great (A)wonders and [a]signs among the people. But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both (B)Cyrenians and (C)Alexandrians, and some from (D)Cilicia and [b](E)Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen. 10 But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking. 11 Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.” 12 And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they (F)came up to him and dragged him away and brought him [c]before (G)the [d]Council. 13 They put forward (H)false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this (I)holy place and the Law; 14 for we have heard him say that (J)this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter (K)the customs which Moses handed down to us.” 15 And fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the [e](L)Council saw his face like the face of an angel.
