Version
Psalm 31:1-5

A Psalm of Complaint and of Praise.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

31 (A)In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never (B)be ashamed;
(C)In Your righteousness deliver me.
(D)Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;
Be to me a (E)rock of [a]strength,
A stronghold to save me.
For You are my [b]rock and (F)my fortress;
For (G)Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
You will (H)pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my (I)strength.
(J)Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have (K)ransomed me, O Lord, (L)God of [c]truth.

Psalm 31:15-16

15 My (A)times are in Your hand;
(B)Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your (C)face to shine upon Your servant;
(D)Save me in Your lovingkindness.

Jeremiah 26:20-24

20 Indeed, there was also a man who prophesied in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from (A)Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land words similar to all those of Jeremiah. 21 When King Jehoiakim and all his mighty men and all the officials heard his words, then the (B)king sought to put him to death; but Uriah heard it, and he was afraid and (C)fled and went to Egypt. 22 Then King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt: (D)Elnathan the son of Achbor and certain men with him went into Egypt. 23 And they brought Uriah from Egypt and led him to King Jehoiakim, who (E)slew him with a sword and cast his dead body into the [a]burial place of the [b]common people.

24 But the hand of (F)Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was (G)not given into the hands of the people to put him to death.

John 8:48-59

48 (A)The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a (B)Samaritan and (C)have a demon?” 49 Jesus answered, “I do not (D)have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. 50 But (E)I do not seek My glory; there is One who seeks and judges. 51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone (F)keeps My word he will never (G)see death.” 52 (H)The Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You (I)have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets also; and You say, ‘If anyone (J)keeps My word, he will never (K)taste of death.’ 53 Surely You (L)are not greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too; whom do You make Yourself out to be?” 54 Jesus answered, (M)If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; (N)it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’; 55 and (O)you have not come to know Him, (P)but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be (Q)a liar like you, (R)but I do know Him and (S)keep His word. 56 (T)Your father Abraham (U)rejoiced [a]to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 (V)So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham [b]was born, (W)I am.” 59 Therefore they (X)picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus [c](Y)hid Himself and went out of the temple.
