Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
86 Bow down Your ear, O LORD, and hear me; for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am merciful. My God, save Your servant who trusts in You.
3 Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I cry upon You continually.
4 Rejoice the soul of Your servant. For to You, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
5 For You, LORD, are good and merciful and of great kindness to all those who call upon You.
6 Give ear, LORD, to my prayer and pay attention to the voice of my supplication.
7 In the day of my trouble, I will call upon You; for You hear me.
8 Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; and there are none like Your works.
9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD, and shall glorify Your Name.
10 For You are great and do wondrous things. You are God, alone.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth. Knit my heart to You, so that I may fear Your Name.
12 I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart. Indeed, I will glorify Your Name forever.
13 For great is Your mercy toward me; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest grave.
14 O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought my soul and have not set You before them.
15 But You, O LORD, are a pitying God, and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness and truth.
16 Turn to me and have mercy upon me. Give Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaid.
17 Show a sign of goodness toward me, so that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed; because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. A Psalm, or song, committed to the sons of Korah
27 And when they had come down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Bid the servant go before us,” (and he went) “But you stand still now, so that I may show you the Word of God.”
10 Then Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it upon his head and kissed him and said, “Has not the LORD anointed you to be Governor over His inheritance?
2 “After you have departed from me this day, you shall find two men by Rachel’s sepulcher, on the border of Benjamin, at Zelzah; and they will say to you, “The donkeys which you went to seek have been found. And lo, your father has left the care of the donkeys and worries about you, saying, ‘What shall I do for my son?’
3 “Then you shall go forth from there and shall come to the plain of Tabor. And you shall meet three men there going up to God, to Bethel, one carrying three goats and another carrying three loaves of bread and another carrying a bottle of wine.
4 “And they will ask you if all is well and will give you the two loaves of bread, which you shall receive from their hands.
5 “After that, you shall come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is. And when you have come there to the city, you shall meet a company of Prophets coming down from the high place with a lute and a tambourine and a flute and a harp before them; and they shall prophesy.
6 “Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you. And you shall prophesy with them and shall be turned into another man.
7 “Therefore, when these signs shall come to you, do as the occasion shall require. For God is with you.
8 “And you shall go down before me to Gilgal. And I, also, will come down to you, to offer Burnt Offerings, and to sacrifice Sacrifices of peace. Wait for me for seven days, until I come to you and tell you what you shall do.”
14 Do not be unequally yoked with the unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what fellowship has light with darkness?
15 And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or, what share has the believer with the unbeliever?
16 And what assent has the Temple of God with idols? For you are the Temple of the living God. As God has said, “I will dwell among them, and walk there. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 “Therefore, come out from among them, and separate yourselves”, says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing. And I will receive you.
18 “And I will be a Father to you. And you shall be my sons and daughters”, says the Lord Almighty.
7 Seeing then we have these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, and complete our sanctification in the fear of God.
