113 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
(A)Praise, O (B)servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord.
2 (C)Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
3 (D)From the rising of the sun to its setting
The (E)name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is (F)high above all nations;
His (G)glory is above the heavens.
5 (H)Who is like the Lord our God,
Who (I)is enthroned on high,
6 Who [c](J)humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in heaven and in the earth?
7 He (K)raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 To make them (L)sit with [d]princes,
With the [e]princes of His people.
9 He (M)makes the barren woman abide in the house
As a joyful mother of children.
[f]Praise [g]the Lord!
Isaac’s Sons
19 Now these are the records of (A)the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham [a]became the father of Isaac; 20 and Isaac was forty years old when he took (B)Rebekah, the (C)daughter of Bethuel the [b]Aramean of Paddan-aram, the (D)sister of Laban the [c]Aramean, to be his wife. 21 Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and (E)the Lord [d]answered him and Rebekah his wife (F)conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If it is so, why then am I this way?” So she went to (G)inquire of the Lord. 23 The Lord said to her,
“(H)Two nations are in your womb;
(I)And two peoples will be separated from your body;
And one people shall be stronger than the other;
And (J)the older shall serve the younger.”
24 When her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 Now the first came forth red, (K)all over like a hairy garment; and they named him Esau. 26 Afterward his brother came forth with (L)his hand holding on to Esau’s heel, so (M)his name was called [e]Jacob; and Isaac was (N)sixty years old when she gave birth to them.
27 When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, but Jacob was a [f]peaceful man, [g](O)living in tents. 28 Now Isaac loved Esau, because [h]he had (P)a taste for game, (Q)but Rebekah loved Jacob.
15 [a]He is the (A)image of the (B)invisible God, the (C)firstborn of all creation. 16 For [b](D)by Him all things were created, (E)both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether (F)thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—(G)all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He [c](H)is before all things, and in Him all things [d]hold together. 18 He is also (I)head of (J)the body, the church; and He is (K)the beginning, (L)the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For [e]it was (M)the Father’s good pleasure for all (N)the [f]fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to (O)reconcile all things to Himself, having made (P)peace through (Q)the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, (R)whether things on earth or things in [g]heaven.
