Psalm 119:9-16

Beth

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By (A)keeping it according to Your word.
10 With (B)all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me (C)wander from Your commandments.
11 I have (D)treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, Lord;
(E)Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have (F)told of
All the (G)ordinances of Your mouth.
14 I have (H)rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
[a]As much as in all riches.
15 I will (I)meditate on Your precepts
And [b]regard (J)Your ways.
16 I shall [c](K)delight in Your statutes;
I will (L)not forget Your word.

Haggai 2:1-9

The Builders Encouraged

On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of the Lord came by (A)Haggai the prophet, saying, “Speak now to (B)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, (C)governor of Judah, and to (D)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the (E)remnant of the people, saying, ‘Who is (F)left among you who saw this [a]temple in its (G)former glory? And how do you see it now? [b]Does it not seem to you like nothing [c]in comparison? But now [d](H)take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work; for (I)I am with you,’ declares the Lord of armies. ‘As for the [e](J)promise which I [f]made you when you came out of Egypt, [g]My (K)Spirit remains in your midst; (L)do not fear!’ For this is what the Lord of armies says: ‘(M)Once more [h]in a (N)little while, I am going to (O)shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. I will shake (P)all the nations; and [i]they will come with the (Q)wealth of all nations, and I will (R)fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord of armies. ‘The (S)silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of armies. ‘The latter (T)glory of this house will be greater than the (U)former,’ says the Lord of armies, ‘and in this place I will give (V)peace,’ declares the Lord of armies.”

Haggai 2:20-23

20 Then the word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai on the (A)twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21 “Speak to (B)Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, ‘I am going to (C)shake the heavens and the earth. 22 And I will (D)overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the (E)power of the kingdoms of the [a]nations; and I will (F)overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the (G)horses and their riders will go down, (H)every one by the sword of another.’ 23 ‘On that day,’ declares the Lord of armies, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will make you like a [b](I)signet ring, for (J)I have chosen you,’” declares the Lord of armies.

John 12:34-50

34 The crowd then answered Him, “We have heard from (A)the Law that (B)the [a]Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say, ‘The (C)Son of Man must be (D)lifted up’? Who is this (E)Son of Man?” 35 So Jesus said to them, (F)For a little while longer (G)the Light is among you. (H)Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; also, the one who (I)walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the Light, (J)believe in the Light, so that you may become (K)sons of Light.”

These things Jesus proclaimed, and He went away and (L)hid Himself from them. 37 But though He had performed so many [b]signs in their sight, they still were not believing in Him. 38 This happened so that the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke would be fulfilled: “(M)Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40 (N)He has blinded their eyes and He (O)hardened their heart, so that they will not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and [c]be converted, and so I will not heal them.” 41 These things Isaiah said because (P)he saw His glory, and (Q)he spoke about Him. 42 Nevertheless (R)many, even of (S)the rulers, believed in Him, but (T)because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, so that they would not be (U)excommunicated from the synagogue; 43 (V)for they loved the [d]approval of people rather than the [e]approval of God.

44 Now Jesus cried out and said, (W)The one who believes in Me, does not believe only in Me, but also in Him who sent Me. 45 And (X)the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 (Y)I have come as Light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me will remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears My [f]teachings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for (Z)I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 (AA)The one who rejects Me and does not [g]accept My [h]teachings has one who judges him: (AB)the word which I spoke. That will judge him on (AC)the last day. 49 (AD)For I did not speak [i]on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me (AE)has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that (AF)His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak (AG)just as the Father has told Me.”
