Psalm 96:1-9

Worship in the Splendour of Holiness

96 (A)Oh sing to the Lord (B)a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
    (C)tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvellous works among all the peoples!
For (D)great is the Lord, and (E)greatly to be praised;
    he is to be feared above (F)all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
    but the Lord (G)made the heavens.
Splendour and majesty are before him;
    (H)strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Ascribe to the Lord, O (I)families of the peoples,
    (J)ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
Ascribe to the Lord (K)the glory due his name;
    bring (L)an offering, and (M)come into his courts!
Worship the Lord in (N)the splendour of holiness;[a]
    (O)tremble before him, all the earth!

Psalm 96:10-13

10 Say among the nations, (A)“The Lord reigns!
    Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
    he will (B)judge the peoples with equity.”
11 Let (C)the heavens be glad, and let (D)the earth rejoice;
    let (E)the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12     let (F)the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all (G)the trees of the forest sing for joy
13     before the Lord, for he comes,
    for he comes (H)to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

Judges 17:1-6

Micah and the Levite

17 There was a man of (A)the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah. And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, (B)“Blessed be my son by the Lord.” And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said, “I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make (C)a carved image and (D)a metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.” So when he restored the money to his mother, his mother (E)took 200 pieces of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a carved image and a metal image. And it was in the house of Micah. And the man Micah had a shrine, and he made (F)an ephod and (G)household gods, and (H)ordained[a] one of his sons, who became his priest. (I)In those days there was no king in Israel. (J)Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

3 John 9-12

I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority. 10 So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.

11 Beloved, (A)do not imitate evil but imitate good. (B)Whoever does good is from God; (C)whoever does evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius (D)has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. We also add our testimony, and (E)you know that our testimony is true.
