Taste and See That the Lord Is Good

[a] Of David, when he (A)changed his behaviour before (B)Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away.

34 I will bless the Lord (C)at all times;
    his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul (D)makes its boast in the Lord;
    let the humble hear and (E)be glad.
Oh, (F)magnify the Lord with me,
    and let us exalt his name together!
I (G)sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are (H)radiant,
    and their faces shall never be ashamed.
(I)This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
    and (J)saved him out of all his troubles.
(K)The angel of the Lord (L)encamps
    round those who fear him, and delivers them.
Oh, (M)taste and see that (N)the Lord is good!
    (O)Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
    for those who fear him have no lack!
10 (P)The young lions suffer want and hunger;
    but those who (Q)seek the Lord lack no good thing.
11 (R)Come, O children, listen to me;
    (S)I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 (T)What man is there who desires life
    and loves many days, that he may (U)see good?
13 (V)Keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from (W)speaking deceit.
14 (X)Turn away from evil and do good;
    seek peace and (Y)pursue it.
15 (Z)The eyes of the Lord are towards the righteous
    (AA)and his ears towards their cry.
16 (AB)The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to (AC)cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 (AD)When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
    and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to (AE)the broken-hearted
    and saves (AF)the crushed in spirit.
19 (AG)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    (AH)but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones;
    (AI)not one of them is broken.
21 (AJ)Affliction will slay the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord (AK)redeems the life of his servants;
    none of those who take refuge in him will be (AL)condemned.

Exodus 19:7-20

So Moses came and called the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him. (A)All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” And Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord. And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am coming to you (B)in a thick cloud, that (C)the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also (D)believe you for ever.”

When Moses told the words of the people to the Lord, 10 the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and (E)consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them (F)wash their garments 11 and be ready for the third day. For on the third day (G)the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. 12 And you shall set limits for the people all round, saying, ‘Take care not to go up into the mountain or touch the edge of it. (H)Whoever touches the mountain shall be put to death. 13 No hand shall touch him, but he shall be stoned or shot;[a] whether beast or man, he shall not live.’ When (I)the trumpet sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain.” 14 So Moses (J)went down from the mountain to the people and (K)consecrated the people; (L)and they washed their garments. 15 And he said to the people, “Be ready for the (M)third day; (N)do not go near a woman.”

16 On the morning of the (O)third day there were (P)thunders and lightnings and (Q)a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud (R)trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp (S)trembled. 17 Then (T)Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain. 18 Now (U)Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and (V)the whole mountain trembled greatly. 19 And as the (W)sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and (X)God answered him in thunder. 20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

Jude 17-25

A Call to Persevere

17 But you must (A)remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They[a] said to you, (B)“In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, (C)devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, (D)building yourselves up in your most holy faith and (E)praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 (F)keep yourselves in the love of God, (G)waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by (H)snatching them out of (I)the fire; to others show mercy (J)with fear, hating even (K)the garment[b] stained by the flesh.

Doxology

24 (L)Now to him who is able (M)to keep you from stumbling and (N)to present you (O)blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to (P)the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, (Q)be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and for ever. Amen.
