Psalm 105:1-11

The Lords Wonderful Works in Behalf of Israel.

105 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make His deeds known among the peoples.
Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
[a](E)Tell of all His [b]wonders.
Boast in His holy name;
May the (F)heart of those who seek the Lord be joyful.
Seek the Lord and (G)His strength;
(H)Seek His face continually.
Remember His [c](I)wonders which He has done,
His marvels and the (J)judgments [d]spoken by His mouth,
You [e]descendants of (K)Abraham, His servant,
You sons of (L)Jacob, His (M)chosen ones!
He is the Lord our God;
His (N)judgments are in all the earth.

He has (O)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a (P)thousand generations,
The (Q)covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His (R)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (S)confirmed it to Jacob as a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(T)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [f](U)portion of your inheritance,”

Psalm 105:37-45

37 Then He brought [a]the Israelites out with (A)silver and gold,
And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (B)glad when they departed,
For the (C)dread of them had fallen upon [b]the Egyptians.
39 He spread out a (D)cloud as a [c]covering,
And (E)fire to illumine by night.
40 [d]They (F)asked, and He brought (G)quail,
And satisfied them with the [e](H)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [f]rock and (I)water flowed out;
[g]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (J)remembered His holy word
With His servant Abraham;
43 And He led out His people with joy,
His chosen ones with a joyful (K)shout.
44 He also (L)gave them the lands of the [h]nations,
So that they (M)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 And that they might (N)keep His statutes
And comply with His laws;
[i]Praise [j]the Lord!

1 Samuel 3:1-9

The Prophetic Call to Samuel

Now (A)the boy Samuel was attending to the service of the Lord before Eli. And (B)word from the Lord was rare in those days; [a]visions were infrequent.

But it happened at that time as Eli was lying down in his place (now (C)his eyesight had begun to be [b]poor and he could not see well), and (D)the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was, that the Lord called Samuel; and he said, “(E)Here I am.” Then he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. And the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, my son, go back and lie down.” (F)Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor had the word of the Lord yet been revealed to him. So the Lord called Samuel again for the third time. And he got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. And Eli said to Samuel, “Go lie down, and it shall be if He calls you, that you shall say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-3:5

Stand Firm

13 (A)But we should always give thanks to God for you, (B)brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because (C)God has chosen you [a]from the beginning (D)for salvation [b](E)through sanctification [c]by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this He (F)called you through (G)our gospel, [d]that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers and sisters, (H)stand firm and (I)hold on to the traditions which you were taught, whether (J)by word of mouth or (K)by letter [e]from us.

16 (L)Now may our Lord Jesus Christ (M)Himself and God our Father, who has (N)loved us and given us eternal comfort and (O)good hope by grace, 17 (P)comfort and (Q)strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

Request for Prayer

(R)Finally, brothers and sisters, (S)pray for us that (T)the word of the Lord will [f]spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it was also with you; and that we will be (U)rescued from troublesome and evil people; for not all have the faith. But (V)the Lord is faithful, [g]and He will strengthen and protect you [h]from (W)the evil one. We have (X)confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you (Y)are doing, and will do, what we command. May the Lord (Z)direct your hearts to the love of God and to the perseverance of Christ.
