Psalm 116:1-4

Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

116 (A)I love the Lord, because He (B)hears
My voice and my pleas.
Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
The (D)snares of death encompassed me
And the [a]terrors of [b]Sheol [c]came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.
Then (E)I called upon the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, (F)save my [d]life!”

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I (A)repay to the Lord
For all His (B)benefits [a]to me?
13 I will lift up the (C)cup of salvation,
And (D)call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will (E)pay my vows to the Lord;
May it be (F)in the presence of all His people!
15 (G)Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, [b]I surely am (H)Your slave,
I am Your slave, the (I)son of Your female slave,
You have (J)unfastened my restraints.
17 I will offer You (K)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (L)call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will (M)pay my vows to the Lord,
May it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (N)courtyards of the Lords house,
In the midst of you, (O)Jerusalem!
[c]Praise [d]the Lord!

Isaiah 25:6-9

(A)Now the Lord of armies will prepare a [a]lavish banquet for (B)all peoples on this mountain;
A banquet of [b]aged wine, [c]choice pieces with marrow,
And [d]refined, aged wine.
And on this mountain He will destroy the [e](C)covering which is over all peoples,
The veil which is [f]stretched over all nations.
He will [g](D)swallow up death for all time,
And the Lord [h]God will (E)wipe tears away from all faces,
And He will remove the (F)disgrace of His people from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
And it will be said on that day,
“Behold, (G)this is our God for whom we have (H)waited [i]that (I)He might save us.
This is the Lord for whom we have waited;
(J)Let’s rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”

Luke 14:12-14

12 Now He also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, “Whenever you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor wealthy neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you to a meal in return, and that will be your [a]repayment. 13 But whenever you give a [b]banquet, invite people who are poor, who have disabilities, who are limping, and people who are blind; 14 and you will be blessed, since they [c]do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at (A)the resurrection of the righteous.”
