Psalm 116:1-4

Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

116 (A)I love the Lord, because He (B)hears
My voice and my pleas.
Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
The (D)snares of death encompassed me
And the [a]terrors of [b]Sheol [c]came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.
Then (E)I called upon the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, (F)save my [d]life!”

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I (A)repay to the Lord
For all His (B)benefits [a]to me?
13 I will lift up the (C)cup of salvation,
And (D)call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will (E)pay my vows to the Lord;
May it be (F)in the presence of all His people!
15 (G)Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, [b]I surely am (H)Your slave,
I am Your slave, the (I)son of Your female slave,
You have (J)unfastened my restraints.
17 I will offer You (K)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (L)call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will (M)pay my vows to the Lord,
May it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (N)courtyards of the Lords house,
In the midst of you, (O)Jerusalem!
[c]Praise [d]the Lord!

Isaiah 25:1-5

Song of Praise for God’s Favor

25 Lord, You are (A)my God;
I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name;
For You have (B)worked wonders,
(C)Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
For You have turned a city into a (D)heap,
A (E)fortified city into a ruin;
A (F)palace of strangers is no longer a city,
It will never be rebuilt.
Therefore a strong people will (G)glorify You;
(H)Cities of ruthless nations will revere You.
For You have been a (I)stronghold for the helpless,
A stronghold for the poor in his distress,
A (J)refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the (K)ruthless
Is like a rain storm against a wall.
Like heat in a dry land, You subdue the (L)uproar of foreigners;
Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is [a]silenced.

1 Peter 1:8-12

and (A)though you have not seen Him, you (B)love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and [a]full of glory, obtaining as (C)the outcome of your faith, the salvation of [b]your souls.

10 (D)As to this salvation, the prophets who (E)prophesied of the (F)grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, 11 [c]seeking to know what person or time (G)the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He (H)predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories [d]to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who (I)preached the gospel to you by (J)the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which (K)angels long to [e]look.
