Psalm 118:1-2

Thanksgiving for the Lords Saving Goodness.

118 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, for (B)He is good;
For His mercy is everlasting.
Let (C)Israel say,
“His mercy is everlasting.”

Psalm 118:14-24

14 [a](A)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become (B)my salvation.

15 The sound of (C)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (D)right hand of the Lord performs valiantly.
16 The (E)right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord performs valiantly.
17 I (F)will not die, but live,
And (G)tell of the works of [b]the Lord.
18 [c]The Lord has (H)disciplined me severely,
But He has (I)not turned me over to death.

19 (J)Open the gates of righteousness to me;
I will enter through them, I will give thanks to [d]the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
The (K)righteous will enter through it.
21 I will give thanks to You, for You have (L)answered me,
And You have (M)become my salvation.

22 A (N)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the [e]chief cornerstone.
23 This came about from the Lord;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let’s (O)rejoice and be glad in it.

Exodus 14:10-31

10 As Pharaoh approached, the sons of Israel [a]looked, and behold, the Egyptians were coming after them, and they became very frightened; (A)so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 Then (B)they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, [b]bringing us out of Egypt? 12 (C)Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘[c]Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!”

The Sea Is Divided

13 But Moses said to the people, “(D)Do not fear! [d]Stand by and see (E)the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever. 14 (F)The Lord will fight for you, while (G)you keep silent.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. 16 As for you, lift up (H)your staff and reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall [e]go through the midst of the sea on dry land. 17 And as for Me, behold, (I)I will [f]harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 (J)Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”

19 Then (K)the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud [g]along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Therefore the one did not approach the other all night.

21 (L)Then Moses reached out with his hand over the sea; and the Lord [h]swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into (M)dry land, and (N)the waters were divided. 22 So (O)the sons of Israel [i]went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and (P)the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left. 23 Then (Q)the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea. 24 But at the morning watch, (R)the Lord looked down on the [j]army of the Egyptians [k]through the pillar of fire and cloud, and brought the [l]army of the Egyptians into confusion. 25 He [m]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, (S)for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”

26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(T)Reach out with your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen.” 27 So Moses reached out with his hand over the sea, and (U)the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing [n]right into it; then the Lord [o](V)overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, Pharaoh’s entire army that had gone into the sea after them; (W)not even one of them remained. 29 But the sons of Israel walked on (X)dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.

30 (Y)So the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel (Z)saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 When Israel saw the great [p]power which the Lord had [q]used against the Egyptians, the people [r]feared the Lord, and (AA)they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

Exodus 15:20-21

20 (A)Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the (B)tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with [a](C)dancing. 21 And Miriam answered them,

(D)Sing to the Lord, for He [b]is highly exalted;
The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”

Colossians 3:5-11

(A)Therefore, [a]treat (B)the parts of your earthly body as dead to (C)sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which [b]amounts to idolatry. For it is because of these things that (D)the wrath of God is coming [c]upon the [d]sons of disobedience, and (E)in them you also once walked, when you were living [e]in them. But now you also, (F)rid yourselves of all of them: (G)anger, wrath, malice, slander, and (H)obscene speech from your mouth. [f](I)Do not lie to one another, since you (J)stripped off the old [g]self with its evil practices, 10 and have (K)put on the new self, which is being [h](L)renewed to a true knowledge (M)according to the image of the One who (N)created it— 11 a renewal in which (O)there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, (P)circumcised and uncircumcised, [i](Q)barbarian, [j]Scythian, (R)slave, and free, but (S)Christ is all, and in all.
