Psalm 24

The King of Glory

A Psalm of David.

24 (A)The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,[a]
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has (B)founded it upon (C)the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
(D)Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his (E)holy place?
(F)He who has (G)clean hands and (H)a pure heart,
who does not (I)lift up his soul to (J)what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive (K)blessing from the Lord
and (L)righteousness from (M)the God of his salvation.
Such is (N)the generation of those who seek him,
who (O)seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b] Selah
(P)Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that (Q)the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, (R)mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
    (S)The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah

Isaiah 33:17-22

17 (A)Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty;
(B)they will see a land that stretches afar.
18 (C)Your heart will muse on the terror:
“Where is he who counted, where is (D)he who weighed the tribute?
Where is (E)he who counted the towers?”
19 (F)You will see no more the insolent people,
the people (G)of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend,
stammering in a tongue that you cannot understand.
20 Behold Zion, the city of our appointed feasts!
    (H)Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
an untroubled habitation, an (I)immovable tent,
whose stakes will never be plucked up,
nor will any of its cords be broken.
21 But there the Lord in majesty will be for us
a place of (J)broad rivers and streams,
(K)where no galley with oars can go,
    nor majestic ship can pass.
22 For the Lord is our (L)judge; the Lord is our (M)lawgiver;
the Lord is our (N)king; he will save us.

Revelation 22:8-21

I, (A)John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, (B)I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, (C)but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant[a] with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those (D)who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

10 And he said to me, (E)“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 (F)Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

12 “Behold, (G)I am coming soon, (H)bringing my recompense with me, (I)to repay everyone for what he has done. 13 (J)I am the Alpha and the Omega, (K)the first and the last, (L)the beginning and the end.”

14 Blessed are those who (M)wash their robes,[b] so that they may have the right to (N)the tree of life and that (O)they may enter the city by the gates. 15 (P)Outside are (Q)the dogs (R)and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practises falsehood.

16 (S)“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things (T)for the churches. I am (U)the root and (V)the descendant of David, (W)the bright morning star.”

17 The Spirit and (X)the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And (Y)let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the (Z)water of life without price.

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: (AA)if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in (AB)the tree of life and in (AC)the holy city, which are described in this book.

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely (AD)I am coming soon.” Amen. (AE)Come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.[c] Amen.
