Version
Zechariah 9:9-12

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is just, and having salvation, poor and riding upon a donkey —upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.

10 “And I will cut off the chariots from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem. The bow of the battle shall be broken.” And He shall speak peace to the heathen. And His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the end of the land.

11 “You also shall be saved through the Blood of My Covenant. I have loosed your prisoners out of the waterless pit.

12 “Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope! Today I declare that I will restore double to you!

Psalm 145:8-14

The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy.

The LORD is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.

10 All Your works praise You, O LORD, and Your Saints bless You.

11 They show the glory of Your Kingdom, and speak of Your power,

12 to cause His power and the glorious renown of His Kingdom to be known to the sons of men.

13 Your Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all ages.

14 The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are ready to fall.

Romans 7:15-25

15 For I do not understand that which I do. For what I will to do, that do I not do. But what I hate, that I do.

16 If, then, I do that which I do not want to do, I consent to the Law, that it is good.

17 So, then, it is no more me who does it, but sin which dwells in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) no good thing dwells. For to will is present with me. But I find no means to perform that which is good.

19 For I do not do the good thing which I want to do. But the evil, which I do not want to do, that I do.

20 Now, if I do that which I do not want, it is no more I who do it, but the sin which dwells in me.

21 I find, therefore, a law that when I would like to do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the Law of God, concerning the inner man.

23 But I see another law in my limbs, rebelling against the law of my mind, and leading me captive to the law of sin, which is in my limbs.

24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I, myself, serve the Law of God in my mind, but the law of sin in my flesh.

Matthew 11:16-19

16 “But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like little children who sit in the markets, and call to others,

17 “and say, ‘We have played the flute for you and you have not danced. We have lamented for you, and you have not mourned.’

18 “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend to tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Matthew 11:25-30

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I give You thanks, O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise, and men of understanding, and have opened them to the simple.

26 “It is so, O Father, because it was pleasing before You.

27 “All things are given to Me by My Father: and no one knows the Son, but the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.

28 “Come to Me, all you who are weary and laden, and I will ease you.

29 “Take My yoke on you, and learn of Me, that I am gentle and lowly in heart. And you shall find rest for your souls.

30 “For My yoke is easy, and My burden light.”
