Version
Hosea 5:15-6:6

15 I will go away and return to My place
Until they [a](A)acknowledge their guilt and seek My face;
In their affliction they will (B)seek Me earnestly.

Israel Chastised

(C)Come, let us return to Yahweh.
For (D)He has torn us, but (E)He will heal us;
He has struck us, but He will (F)bandage us.
He will (G)make us alive after two days;
He will (H)raise us up on the third day,
That we may live before Him.
So let us (I)know, let us pursue to know Yahweh.
His (J)going forth is established as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the (K)rain,
Like the [b]late rain watering the earth.”

What shall I do with you, O (L)Ephraim?
What shall I do with you, O Judah?
For your lovingkindness is like a (M)morning cloud
And like the dew which goes away early.
Therefore I have (N)hewn them in pieces by the prophets;
I have killed them by the (O)words of My mouth;
And the judgments on you are like the light that goes forth.
For (P)I delight in lovingkindness (Q)rather than sacrifice,
And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Psalm 50:7-15

(A)Hear, O My people, and I will speak;
O Israel, I will testify [a]against you;
I am God, (B)your God.
I do (C)not reprove you for your sacrifices,
And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
I shall take no (D)young bull out of your house
Nor male goats out of your folds.
10 For (E)every beast of the forest is Mine,
The cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know every (F)bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field is [b]Mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
For the (G)world is Mine, as well as its fullness.
13 Shall I eat the flesh of [c](H)bulls
Or drink the blood of male goats?
14 Offer to God (I)a sacrifice of thanksgiving
And (J)pay your vows to the Most High;
15 (K)Call upon Me in the day of distress;
I shall (L)rescue you, and you will (M)glorify Me.”

Romans 4:13-25

13 For (A)the promise to Abraham or to his seed (B)that he would be heir of the world was not [a]through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For (C)if those who are [b]of the Law are heirs, faith has been made empty and the promise has been abolished; 15 for (D)the Law brings about wrath, but (E)where there is no law, there also is no trespass.

16 For this reason it is [c]by faith, in order that it may be according to (F)grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to (G)all the seed, not only to [d]those who are of the Law, but also to [e](H)those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is (I)the father of us all— 17 as it is written, “(J)A father of many nations have I made you”—in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, (K)who gives life to the dead and [f](L)calls into being (M)that which does not exist. 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become (N)a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “(O)So shall your seed be.” 19 And without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now (P)as good as dead since (Q)he was about a hundred years old, and (R)the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, (S)giving glory to God, 21 and (T)being fully assured that (U)what God had promised, He was able also to do. 22 Therefore (V)it was also counted to him as righteousness. 23 Now (W)not for his sake only was it written that it was counted to him, 24 but for our sake also, to whom it will be counted, as those (X)who believe upon Him who (Y)raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 He who was (Z)delivered over on account of our transgressions, and was (AA)raised on account of our justification.

Matthew 9:9-13

Matthew and Sinners Called

(A)And as Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called (B)Matthew, sitting in the tax office; and He *said to him, (C)Follow Me!” And he stood up and followed Him.

10 [a]Then it happened that as [b]Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and [c]sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “(D)Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” 12 But when Jesus heard this, He said, It is not (E)those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn [d](F)what this means: ‘(G)I desire [e]compassion, [f]and not sacrifice,’ for (H)I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew 9:18-26

Miracles of Healing

18 (A)While He was saying these things to them, behold, [a]a synagogue [b]official came and [c](B)was bowing down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.” 19 And Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.

20 And behold, a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched (C)the [d]fringe of His [e]garment; 21 for she was saying [f]to herself, “If I only (D)touch His garment, I will [g]be saved from this.” 22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, (E)take courage; (F)your faith has [h]saved you.” [i]At once the woman was [j]saved from her hemorrhage.

23 And when Jesus came into the [k]official’s house, and saw (G)the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24 He was saying, “Leave; for the girl (H)has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. 25 But (I)when the crowd had been sent out, coming in, He (J)took her by the hand, and the girl [l]got up. 26 (K)And this news spread throughout all that land.
