²⁵ Then ^(A)Jeremiah chanted a lament for Josiah. And all the male and female singers speak about Josiah in their lamentations to this day. And they made them a statute in Israel; behold, they are also written in the lamentations.

¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh of hosts,

⁶ Both ^(A)great men and small will die in this land; they will not be buried; they will not be lamented, nor will anyone ^(B)gash himself or ^(C)shave his head for them.

¹⁷ Groan silently; make ^(A)no mourning for the dead. Bind on your headdress and put your shoes on your feet and do not cover your mustache and ^(B)do not eat the bread of men.”
