Psalm 119:105-112

NUN

105 Thy word is a [a]lantern unto my feet, and a light unto my paths.

106 I have [b]sworn and will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

107 I am very sore afflicted: O Lord, quicken me according to thy word.

108 O Lord, I beseech thee, accept the [c]free offering of my mouth, and teach me thy judgments.

109 My [d]soul is continually in mine hand: yet do I not forget thy law.

110 The wicked have laid a snare for me: but I swerved not from thy precepts.

111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an [e]heritage forever: for they are the joy of mine heart.

112 I have applied mine heart to fulfill thy statutes always, even unto the end.

Proverbs 6:6-23

¶ Go to [a]the pismire, O sluggard: behold her ways, and be wise.

For she having no guide, governor, nor ruler,

Prepareth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in harvest.

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of the sleep?

10 (A)Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, [b]a little folding of the hands to sleep.

11 Therefore thy poverty cometh as one that [c]traveleth by the way, and thy necessity like [d]an armed man.

12 The unthrifty man [e]and the wicked man walketh with a froward mouth.

13 He maketh a sign with his eyes: he [f]signifieth with his feet: he [g]instructeth with his fingers.

14 Lewd things are in his heart: he imagineth evil at all times, and raiseth up contentions.

15 Therefore shall his destruction come speedily: he shall be destroyed suddenly without recovery.

16 ¶ These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, his soul abhorreth seven:

17 The haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and the hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that imagineth wicked enterprises, [h]feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and him that raiseth up contentions among [i]brethren.

20 ¶ My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not thy mother’s instruction.

21 Bind them always upon thine [j]heart, and tie them about thy neck.

22 It shall lead thee when thou walkest: it shall watch for thee when thou sleepest, and when thou wakest, it shall talk with thee.

23 For the [k]commandment is a lantern, and instruction a light: and [l]corrections for instruction are the way of life,

John 8:12-30

12 [a]Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I (A)am that light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have that light of life.

13 [b]The Pharisees therefore said unto him, [c]Thou bearest record of thyself: thy record is not true.

14 (B)Jesus answered, and said unto them, [d]Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I come, and whither I go: but ye cannot tell whence I came, and whither I go.

15 Ye judge after the flesh: I [e]judge no man.

16 And if I also judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I, and the Father, that sent me.

17 And it is also written in your Law, (C)that the testimony of two men is true.

18 [f]I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

19 [g]Then said they unto him, Where is that Father of thine? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor the Father of mine. If ye had known me, ye should have known that Father of mine also.

20 These words spake Jesus in the [h]treasury, as he taught in the Temple, and no man laid hands on him: [i]for his hour was not yet come.

21 [j]Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins, Whither I go, can ye not come.

22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself, because he saith, Whither I go, can ye not come?

23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from above: ye are of this world, I am not of this world.

24 I said therefore unto you, That ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe, that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

25 [k]Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus said unto them, Even [l]the same thing that I said unto you from the beginning.

26 [m]I have many things to say, and to judge of you: but he that sent me, is true, and the things that I have heard of him, those speak I to the world.

27 [n]They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath taught me, so I spake these things.

29 For he that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, because I do always those things that please him.

30 ¶ As he spake these things, many believed in him.
