Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
112 Praise ye the Lord! Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in His commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon the earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious and full of compassion and righteous.
5 A good man showeth favor and lendeth; he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be held in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established; he shall not be afraid until he sees his desires upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.
10 The wicked shall see it and be grieved, he shall gnash with his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked shall perish.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge, but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil, but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and trouble therewith.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fattened ox and hatred therewith.
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one for another. Love each other as brethren, be sympathetic, be courteous,
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing, knowing that ye are called thereto, that ye might inherit a blessing.
10 For, “He that would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Let him eschew evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
