Sing of the Lovingkindness of Yahweh Forever

A [a]Maskil of [b]Ethan [c]the Ezrahite.

89 I will (A)sing of the lovingkindnesses of Yahweh forever;
From generation to generation I will (B)make known Your (C)faithfulness with my mouth.
For I have said, “(D)Lovingkindness will be built up forever;
In the heavens You will establish Your (E)faithfulness.”
“I have cut a covenant with (F)My chosen;
I have (G)sworn to David My [d]servant,
I will establish your (H)seed forever
And build up your (I)throne from generation to generation.” [e]Selah.

The (J)heavens will praise Your wonders, O Yahweh;
Your faithfulness also (K)in the assembly of the (L)holy ones.
For (M)who in the sky is comparable to Yahweh?
Who among the [f](N)sons of the mighty is like Yahweh,
A God (O)greatly dreaded in the council of the (P)holy ones,
And [g](Q)fearsome above all those who are around Him?
O Yahweh God of hosts, (R)who is like You, O mighty Yah?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You.
You rule the swelling of the sea;
When its waves rise, You (S)still them.
10 You Yourself crushed [h](T)Rahab like one who is slain;
You (U)scattered Your enemies with Your strong arm.

11 The (V)heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours;
The (W)world and its fullness, You have founded them.
12 The (X)north and the south, You have created them;
(Y)Tabor and (Z)Hermon (AA)sing with joy at Your name.
13 You have a mighty arm;
Your hand is strong, Your (AB)right hand is exalted.
14 (AC)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
(AD)Lovingkindness and [i]truth go before You.
15 How blessed are the people who know the (AE)loud shout of joy!
O Yahweh, they walk in the (AF)light of Your face.
16 In (AG)Your name they rejoice all the day,
And by Your righteousness they are exalted.
17 For You are the beauty of (AH)their strength,
And by Your favor [j]our (AI)horn is exalted.
18 For our (AJ)shield belongs to Yahweh,
[k]And our king to the (AK)Holy One of Israel.

2 Chronicles 33:1-17

Manasseh Reigns over Judah

33 (A)Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. (B)And he did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh dispossessed before the sons of Israel. Indeed, (C)he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had torn down; and (D)he erected altars for the Baals and made [a]Asherim, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. (E)And he built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh had said, “(F)In Jerusalem My name shall be forever.” Indeed, he built altars for all the host of heaven in (G)the two courts of the house of Yahweh. (H)He even made his sons pass through the fire in the valley of Ben-hinnom; and he practiced soothsaying, interpreted omens, practiced sorcery, and (I)dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much that was evil in the sight of Yahweh, provoking Him to anger. Then he put (J)the graven image of the [b]idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, “(K)In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever. And I will not again remove the foot of Israel from the land (L)which I have set up for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them according to all the law, the statutes and the judgments given by the hand of Moses.” Thus Manasseh led Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem astray in order to do more evil than the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the sons of Israel.

Manasseh Removes Foreign Idols

10 Then Yahweh spoke to Manasseh and his people, but (M)they paid no attention. 11 (N)Therefore Yahweh brought the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria against them, and they captured Manasseh with [c]hooks, (O)bound him with bronze chains, and took him to Babylon. 12 And when (P)he was in distress, he entreated Yahweh his God and (Q)humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. 13 Then he prayed to Him, and (R)He was moved by his entreaty and heard his supplication, and returned him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh (S)knew that Yahweh was God.

14 Afterwards, he built the outer wall of the city of David on the west side of (T)Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance of the (U)Fish Gate; and he encircled the (V)Ophel with it and made it very high. Then he put military commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah. 15 He also (W)removed the foreign gods and the [d]idol from the house of Yahweh, as well as all the altars which he had built on the mountain of the house of Yahweh and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside the city. 16 And he set up the altar of Yahweh and sacrificed (X)peace offerings and thank offerings on it; and he said for Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel. 17 Nevertheless (Y)the people still sacrificed in the high places, although only to Yahweh their God.

Hebrews 11:1-7

By Faith

11 Now faith is the [a](A)assurance of things [b](B)hoped for, the [c]conviction of (C)things not seen. For by it the [d](D)men of old [e](E)gained approval.

By faith we understand that the [f](F)worlds were prepared (G)by the word of God, so that what is seen (H)was not made out of things which are visible. By faith (I)Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he (J)was approved as being righteous—God approving [g]his (K)gifts—and through [h]faith, though (L)he is dead, he still speaks. By faith (M)Enoch was taken up so that he would not (N)see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for prior to being taken up, he was approved as being pleasing to God. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who (O)draws near to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. By faith (P)Noah, being (Q)warned about (R)things not yet seen, [i](S)in reverence (T)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of (U)the righteousness which is according to faith.
