Psalm 16

16 Preserve me, O God. For in You do I trust.

O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my LORD. My goodness is not, but for You.”

To the saints who are on the Earth, and to the excellent, all my delight is in them.

The sorrows of those who offer to another god shall be multiplied. Their offerings of blood I will not offer; nor make mention of their names with my lips.

The LORD is the portion of my inheritance, and of my cup. You shall maintain my lot.

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Indeed, I have a fair heritage.

I will praise the LORD Who has given me counsel. My core also teaches me in the nights.

I have set the LORD always before me. For He is at my right hand. Therefore, I shall not slide.

Therefore, my heart is glad. And my tongue rejoices. My flesh, also, rests in hope.

10 For You will not leave my soul in the grave. Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

11 You will show me the path of life. In Your presence is the fullness of joy. And at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. The prayer of David.

Leviticus 9:22-10:11

22 So Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people and blessed them and came down from offering of the Sin Offering and the Burnt Offering and the Peace Offerings.23 Afterward, Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle of the Congregation and came out and blessed the people. And the Glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.

24 And there came out a fire from the LORD and consumed the Burnt Offering and the fat upon the altar. Which, when all the people saw, they gave thanks and fell on their faces.

10 But Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censor and put fire in it and put incense upon it and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them.

Therefore, a fire went out from the LORD and devoured them. So they died before the LORD.

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is it that the LORD spoke, saying, ‘I will be sanctified in those who come near Me. And I will be glorified before all the people.’” But Aaron held his peace.

And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Come near. Carry your brothers from before the Sanctuary, out of the camp.”

Then they went and carried them out of the camp, in their coats, as Moses had commanded.

Afterward, Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons, “Do not uncover your heads, nor tear your clothes, lest you die and lest wrath come upon all the people. But let your brothers, all the House of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled.

“And do not go out from the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, lest you die. For the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you.” And they did according to Moses’ commandment.

And the LORD spoke to Aaron, saying,

“You shall drink neither wine nor strong drink (neither you nor your sons with you) when you come into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, lest you die—an ordinance forever throughout your generations—

10 “so that you may differentiate between the holy and the unholy and between the clean and the unclean,

11 “and so that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has commanded them by the hand of Moses.”

2 Corinthians 13:5-10

Test yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Do you not know yourselves how that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are disqualified?

But I trust that you shall know that we are not disqualified.

Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we should seem approved, but that you should do that which is honest, though we may be disqualified.

For we cannot do anything against the truth, but for the truth.

For we are glad when we are weak, and you are strong. For this also we pray: even your perfecting.

10 Therefore, I write these things while being absent (so that when I am present, I should not use sharpness) according to the power which the Lord has given me to edification, and not to destruction.
