26 And when the wife of Uriah heard that her husband Uriah was dead, she mourned for her husband.
27 So, when the mourning had passed, David sent and took her into his house. And she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
12 Then the LORD sent Nathan to David, who came to him and said to him, “There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor.
2 “The rich man had exceedingly many sheep and oxen.
3 “But the poor had none at all, except one little sheep which he had bought and nourished. And it grew up with him and with his children also, and ate of his own morsels and drank of his own cup and slept in his bosom and was to him as his daughter.
4 “Now a stranger came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own sheep and from his own oxen to prepare for the stranger who had come to him. But he took the poor man’s sheep and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”
5 Then David was exceedingly angry with the man, and said to Nathan, “As the LORD lives, the man who has done this thing shall surely die!
6 “And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no pity!”
7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and delivered you out of the hand of Saul,
8 ‘and gave you your lord’s house, and your lord’s wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah, and would moreover (if that had been too little) have given you such and such things.
9 ‘Why have you despised the Commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10 ‘Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’
13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” And Nathan said to David, “The LORD has also put away your sin. You shall not die.
14 “However, because, by this deed, you have caused the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child who is born to you shall surely die.”
15 So Nathan departed to his house. And the LORD struck the child whom Uriah’s wife bore to David. And it was sick.
32 Blessed is he whose wickedness is forgiven; whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I held my tongue (my bones being consumed when I roared all day,
4 for Your hand is heavy upon me day and night) and my moisture turned into the drought of Summer (Selah),
5 I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I thought, “I will confess to the LORD my wickedness against myself.” And You forgave the punishment of my sin. Selah.
6 Therefore, everyone who is godly shall make his prayer to You in a time when You may be found. Surely, in the flood of great waters they shall not come near him.
7 You are my Secret Place. You preserve me from trouble. You surround me with joyful deliverance. Selah.
8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you shall go. I will guide you with My eye.
9 “Be not like a horse, or like a mule, which do not understand; whose mouths you bind with bit and bridle, lest they come near you.”
10 Many sorrows shall come to the wicked. But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
11 Be glad, you righteous, and rejoice in the LORD; and be joyful, all you who are upright in heart!
15 “We, who are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners,
16 “know that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ. Even we, I say, have believed in Jesus Christ; that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the Law. Because, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified.
17 “If then, while we seek to be made righteous by Christ, we ourselves are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin? Absolutely not!
18 “For if I build again the things that I have destroyed, I make myself a trespasser.
19 “For I, through the Law, am dead to the Law, that I might live to God.
20 “I am crucified with Christ, but I live; yet not I anymore, but Christ lives in me. And, in that I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith in the Son of God, Who has loved me and given Himself for me.
21 “I do not abrogate the grace of God. For if righteousness is by the Law, then Christ died for nothing.”
36 And one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went into the Pharisee’s house and sat down at table.
37 And behold, a woman in the city (who was a sinner), when she knew that Jesus sat at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought a box of ointment.
38 And she stood behind him, weeping at his feet. And she began to wash his feet with her tears. And she wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Now when the Pharisee who had asked Him, saw it, he spoke to himself, saying, “If this man were a Prophet, He would surely have known who and what kind of woman this is who touches Him. For she is a sinner.”
40 And Jesus answered, and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he said, “Master, say on.”
41 “There was a certain lender who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 “When they had nothing with which to pay, he forgave them both. Therefore, tell Me, which of them will love him most?”
43 Simon answered, and said, “I suppose the one to whom he forgave most.” And He said to him, “You have judged rightly.”
44 Then he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, “See this woman? I entered into your house and you gave Me no water for my feet. But she has washed my feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 “You gave Me no kiss. But since the time I came in, she has not ceased to kiss My feet.
46 “You did not anoint My head with oil. But she has anointed My feet with ointment.
47 “Therefore I say to you her many sins are forgiven. For she has loved much. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”
48 And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 And those who sat at table with Him began to say among themselves, “Who is this Who even forgives sins?”
50 And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
8 And afterward, it happened that He went through every city and town, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him,
2 as well as certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities (such as Mary, called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils;
3 and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward; and Susanna; and many others who ministered to Him from their possessions).
