Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Bless Yahweh, O My Soul
Of David.
103 (A)Bless Yahweh, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His (B)holy name.
2 Bless Yahweh, O my soul,
And (C)forget none of His benefits;
3 Who (D)pardons all your iniquities,
Who (E)heals all your diseases;
4 Who (F)redeems your life from the pit,
Who (G)crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5 Who (H)satisfies your [a]years with good things,
So that your youth is (I)renewed like the eagle.
6 Yahweh (J)performs righteous deeds
And judgments for all who are (K)oppressed.
7 He (L)made known His ways to Moses,
His (M)acts to the sons of Israel.
8 Yahweh is (N)compassionate and gracious,
(O)Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
9 He (P)will not always contend with us,
And He will not (Q)keep His anger forever.
10 He has (R)not dealt with us according to our sins,
And He has not rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high (S)as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who [b]fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He (T)removed our transgressions from us.
13 (U)As a father has compassion on his children,
So Yahweh has compassion on those who [c]fear Him.
22 Bless Yahweh, (A)all you works of His,
In all places of His rule;
Bless Yahweh, O my soul!
53 “Nevertheless, I will [a]return their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and [b]along with them [c]your own captivity, 54 in order that you may bear your dishonor and feel (A)dishonor for all that you have done when you become (B)a comfort to them. 55 Your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, [d]will return to their former state, and you with your daughters will also return to your former state. 56 As the name of your sister Sodom was not heard in your mouth in your day of lofty pride, 57 before your (C)wickedness was uncovered, [e]so now you have become the (D)reproach of the daughters of [f]Edom and of all who are around her, of the daughters of the Philistines—those all around you who despise you. 58 You have (E)borne the penalty of your lewdness and abominations,” declares Yahweh. 59 For thus says Lord Yahweh, “I will also do with you as you have done, you who have (F)despised the oath by breaking the covenant.
Yahweh’s Everlasting Covenant
60 “Nevertheless, I Myself will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an (G)everlasting covenant with you. 61 Then you will (H)remember your ways and feel dishonor when you receive your sisters, both your older and your younger; and I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your covenant. 62 Thus I will (I)establish My covenant with you, and you shall (J)know that I am Yahweh, 63 so that you may (K)remember and be ashamed and (L)never open your mouth anymore because of your dishonor, when I have (M)atoned for you for all that you have done,” declares Lord Yahweh.
53 [a][Everyone went to his home.
An Adulteress Forgiven
8 But Jesus went to (A)the Mount of Olives. 2 Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and (B)He sat down and began to teach them. 3 The scribes and the Pharisees *brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, 4 they *said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now in the Law (C)Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?” 6 They were saying this, (D)testing Him, (E)so that they might have evidence to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. 7 But when they persisted in asking Him, (F)He straightened up and said to them, “(G)Let him who is without sin among you be the (H)first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. 10 (I)Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 11 She said, “No one, [b]Lord.” And Jesus said, “(J)I do not condemn you, either. Go, and from now on (K)sin no more.”]
