Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
7 (A)So thou, O son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore thou shalt hear the word at my [a]mouth, and admonish them from me.
8 When I shall say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt die the death, if thou dost not speak and admonish the wicked of his way, that wicked man shall die for his iniquity, but his blood will I [b]require at thine hand.
9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, if he do not turn from his way, he shall die for his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, Thus ye speak and say, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we are consumed because of them, [c]how should we then live?
11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, [d]I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways, for why will ye die, O ye house of Israel?
HE
33 Teach [a]me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keep it unto the end.
34 Give me understanding and I will keep thy Law, yea, I will keep it with my whole [b]heart.
35 Direct me in the path of thy commandments: for therein is my delight.
36 Incline mine heart unto thy testimonies: and not to [c]covetousness.
37 Turn away mine [d]eyes from regarding vanity, and quicken me in thy way.
38 Stablish thy promise to thy servant, because he feareth thee.
39 Take away [e]my rebuke that I fear: for thy judgments are good.
40 Behold, I desire thy commandments: [f]quicken me in thy righteousness.
8 [a]Owe nothing to any man, but to love one another: [b]for he that loveth another, hath fulfilled the [c]Law.
9 For this, (A)Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet: and if there be any other commandment, it is [d]briefly comprehended in this saying, even in this, (B)Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
10 Love doeth not evil to his neighbor: therefore is love the (C)fulfilling of the Law.
11 [e]And that, considering the season, that it is now time that we should arise from sleep: for now is our salvation nearer, than when we believed it.
12 The night is past, and the day is [f]at hand, let us therefore cast away the works [g]of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light,
13 So that we walk honestly, as in the day: not in (D)gluttony, and drunkenness, neither in chambering and wantonness, nor in strife and envying.
14 (E)But [h]put ye on the Lord JESUS CHRIST, and take no thought for the flesh, to fulfill the lust of it.
15 ¶ (A)[a]Moreover, if thy brother trespass against [b]thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast won thy brother.
16 But if he hear thee not, take yet with thee one or two, that by the (B)[c]mouth of two or three witnesses, every word may be [d]confirmed.
17 [e]And if he [f]refuse to hear them, tell it unto the [g]Church: and if he refuse to hear the Church also, let him be unto thee as an [h]heathen man, and a Publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, (C)Whatsoever ye bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven: and (D)whatsoever ye loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again, verily I say unto you, that if two of you shall [i]agree in earth upon anything, whatsoever they shall desire, it shall be given them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them.
