Jeremiah 28:5-9

Then the Prophet Jeremiah said unto the [a]Prophet Hananiah in the presence of the Priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the House of the Lord.

Even the Prophet Jeremiah said, So be it: the [b]Lord so do, the Lord confirm thy words which thou hast prophesied, to restore the vessels of the Lord’s house, and all that is carried captive from Babel, into this place.

But hear thou now this word that I will speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people.

The Prophets that have been before me, and before thee in time past, [c]prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of plagues, and of pestilence.

And the Prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the Prophet shall come to pass, then shall the Prophet be known that the Lord hath truly sent him.

Psalm 89:1-4

89 1 With many words doth the Prophet praise the goodness of God, 23 For his testament and covenant, that he had made between him and his elect by Jesus Christ the son of David. 38 Then doth he complain of the great ruin, and desolation of the kingdom of David, so that to the outward appearance the promise was broken. 46 Finally, he prayeth to be delivered from his afflictions, making mention of the shortness of man’s life, and confirming himself by God’s promise.

A Psalm to give instruction, of Ethan the Ezrahite.

I will [a]sing the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I declare thy truth from generation to generation.

For I [b]said, Mercy shall be set up forever: thy truth shalt thou [c]stablish in the very heavens.

[d]I have made a covenant with my chosen: I have sworn to David my servant,

Thy seed will I stablish forever, and set up thy throne from generation to generation. Selah.

Psalm 89:15-18

15 Blessed is the people that can [a]rejoice in thee: they shall walk in the light of thy [b]countenance, O Lord.

16 They shall rejoice continually in thy Name, and in thy righteousness shall they exalt themselves.

17 For thou art the [c]glory of their strength, and by thy favor our horns shall be exalted.

18 For our [d]shield appertaineth to the Lord, and our King to the Holy one of Israel.

Romans 6:12-23

12 [a]Let not sin [b]reign therefore in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof:

13 Neither [c]give ye your [d]members, as [e]weapons of unrighteousness unto sin: but give yourselves unto God, as they that are alive from the dead, and give your members as weapons of righteousness unto God.

14 [f]For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.

15 [g]What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the Law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 (A)Know ye not, that to whomsoever ye give yourselves as servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 [h]But God be thanked, that ye have been the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart unto the [i]form of the doctrine, whereunto ye were delivered.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye are made the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of man, because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have given your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, to commit iniquity, so now give your members servants unto righteousness in holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were [j]freed from righteousness.

21 [k]What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now ashamed? For the [l]end of those things is death.

22 But now being freed from sin, and made servants unto God, ye have your fruit in holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

23 [m]For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 10:40-42

40 [a]He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.

41 (A)[b]He that receiveth a Prophet in [c]the name of a Prophet, shall receive a Prophet’s reward: and he that receiveth a righteous man, in the name of a righteous man, shall receive the reward of a righteous man.

42 (B)And whosoever shall give unto one of these [d]little ones to drink a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
