Psalm 69:7-10

For thy sake have I suffered reproof: shame hath covered my face.

I am become a stranger unto my brethren, even an alien unto my mother’s sons.

[a]For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me, and the rebukes of them that rebuked thee, are fallen upon me.

10 I [b]wept and my soul fasted, but that was to my reproof.

Psalm 69:11-15

11 I put on a sack also: and I became a proverb unto them.

12 They that [a]sat in the gate, spake of me, and the drunkards sang of me.

13 But Lord, I make my prayer unto thee in an [b]acceptable time, even in the multitude of thy mercy: O God, hear me in the truth of thy salvation.

14 Deliver me out of the mire, that I sink not: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the [c]deep waters.

15 Let not the water flood drown me, neither let the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Psalm 69:16-18

16 Hear me, O Lord, for thy loving-kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

17 And [a]hide not thy face from thy servant, for I am in trouble; make haste and hear me.

18 Draw near unto my soul and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.

Jeremiah 20:1-6

20 Jeremiah is smitten and cast into prison for preaching of the word of God. 3 He prophesieth the captivity of Babylon. 7 He complaineth that he is a mocking stock for the word of God. 9 He is compelled by the spirit to preach the word.

When Pashhur, the son of Immer, the priest, which was appointed governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things,

Then Pashhur smote Jeremiah the Prophet, and put him in the [a]stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.

And on the morning, Pashhur brought Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashhur, but [b]Magor-Missabib.

For thus saith the Lord, behold, I will make thee to be a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends, and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it, and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babel, and he shall carry them captive into Babel, and shall slay them with the sword.

Moreover, I will deliver all the substance of this city, and all the labors thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the Kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them away and carry them to Babel.

And thou Pashhur, and all that dwell in thine house, shall go into captivity, and thou shalt come to Babel, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou and all thy [c]friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.

Luke 11:53-12:3

53 [a]And as he said these things unto them, the Scribes and Pharisees began to urge him sore, and to [b]provoke him to speak of many things,

54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something of his mouth, whereby they might accuse him.

In (A)[c]the meantime, there gathered together [d]an innumerable multitude of people, so that they trod one another: and he began to say unto his disciples first, Take heed to yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

(B)For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed: neither hid, that shall not be known.

Wherefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness, it shall be heard in the light: and that which ye have spoken in the ear, in secret places, shall be preached on the houses.
