Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
The Lord’s Wonderful Works in Behalf of Israel.
105 Oh (A)give thanks to the Lord, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
[a](E)Speak of all His [b]wonders.
3 [c]Glory in His holy name;
Let the (F)heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.
4 Seek the Lord and (G)His strength;
(H)Seek His face continually.
5 Remember His [d](I)wonders which He has done,
His marvels and the (J)judgments [e]uttered by His mouth,
6 O seed of (K)Abraham, His servant,
O sons of (L)Jacob, His (M)chosen ones!
7 He is the Lord our God;
His (N)judgments are in all the earth.
8 He has (O)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a (P)thousand generations,
9 The (Q)covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His (R)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (S)confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(T)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [f](U)portion of your inheritance,”
37 Then He brought them out with (A)silver and gold,
And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (B)glad when they departed,
For the (C)dread of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a (D)cloud for a [a]covering,
And (E)fire to illumine by night.
40 [b]They (F)asked, and He brought (G)quail,
And satisfied them with the [c](H)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [d]rock and (I)water flowed out;
[e]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (J)remembered His holy word
With Abraham His servant;
43 And He brought forth His people with joy,
His chosen ones with a joyful (K)shout.
44 He (L)gave them also the lands of the [f]nations,
That they (M)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 So that they might (N)keep His statutes
And observe His laws,
[g]Praise [h]the Lord!
10 Hear, my son, and (A)accept my sayings
And the (B)years of your life will be many.
11 I have (C)directed you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in upright paths.
12 When you walk, your (D)steps will not be impeded;
And if you run, you (E)will not stumble.
13 (F)Take hold of instruction; do not let go.
Guard her, for she is your (G)life.
14 (H)Do not enter the path of the wicked
And do not proceed in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, do not pass by it;
Turn away from it and pass on.
16 For they (I)cannot sleep unless they do evil;
And [a]they are robbed of sleep unless they make someone stumble.
17 For they (J)eat the bread of wickedness
And drink the wine of violence.
18 But the (K)path of the righteous is like the (L)light of dawn,
That (M)shines brighter and brighter until the (N)full day.
19 The (O)way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know over what they [b](P)stumble.
20 My son, (Q)give attention to my words;
(R)Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 (S)Do not let them depart from your sight;
(T)Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22 For they are (U)life to those who find them
And (V)health to all [c]their body.
23 Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For (W)from it flow the springs of life.
24 Put away from you a (X)deceitful mouth
And (Y)put devious [d]speech far from you.
25 Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your [e]gaze be fixed straight in front of you.
26 (Z)Watch the path of your feet
And all your (AA)ways will be established.
27 (AB)Do not turn to the right nor to the left;
(AC)Turn your foot from evil.
Choosing the Twelve
12 It was [a]at this time that He went off to (A)the mountain to (B)pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. 13 And when day came, (C)He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as (D)apostles: 14 Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and [b]James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew; 15 and (E)Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot; 16 Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
17 Jesus (F)came down with them and stood on a level place; and there was (G)a large crowd of His disciples, and a great throng of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of (H)Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were being cured. 19 And all the [c]people were trying to (I)touch Him, for (J)power was coming from Him and healing them all.
