97 Oh how love I thy law! it is my meditation [a]continually.
98 By thy commandments thou hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
99 I have had more [b]understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understood more than the ancient, because I kept thy precepts.
101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
102 I have not declined from thy judgments: for [c]thou didst teach me.
103 How sweet are thy promises unto my mouth! yea, more than honey unto my mouth.
104 By thy precepts I have gotten understanding: therefore I hate all the ways of falsehood.

107 I am very sore afflicted: O Lord, quicken me according to thy word.

110 The wicked have laid a snare for me: but I swerved not from thy precepts.

1 Sing [b]joyfully unto God our strength: sing loud unto the God of Jacob.
2 Take the song and bring forth the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the viol.
3 Blow the trumpet in the [c]new moon, even in the time appointed at our feast day.
4 For this is a statute for Israel, and a Law of the God of Jacob.
5 He set this in [d]Joseph for a testimony, when he came out of the land of Egypt, where I heard a language, that [e]I understood not.
6 I have withdrawn his shoulder from the burden, and his hands have left the [f]pots.
7 Thou calledst in affliction, and I delivered thee, and [g]answered thee in the secret of the thunder: I proved thee at the waters of [h]Meribah. Selah.
8 [i]Hear, O my people, and I will protest unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me,

11 But my people would not hear my voice, and Israel would none of me,

15 The haters of the Lord should have been subject unto him, and their time [m]should have endured forever.
16 And God would have fed them with the [n]fat of wheat, and with honey out of the rock would I have sufficed thee.
82 1 The Prophet declaring God to be present among the Judges and Magistrates, 2 Reproveth their partiality. 3 And exhorteth them to do justice. 5 But seeing none amendment, 8 He desireth God to undertake the matter and execute justice himself.

1 God standeth in the assembly of [o]gods: he judgeth among gods.
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the [p]wicked? Selah.
3 Do right to the poor and fatherless: do justice to the poor and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and [q]needy: save them from the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not and understand nothing: they walk in darkness, albeit all the [r]foundations of the earth be moved.
6 I have said, Ye are gods, and ye all are children of the most High.
7 [s]But ye shall die as a man, and ye princes shall fall like others.
8 O God, arise, therefore judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit [t]all nations.
19 ¶ So Gideon and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the host, in the beginning of the middle watch, and they raised up the watchmen, and they blew with their trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
20 And the three companies blew with trumpets and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The [a]sword of the Lord and of Gideon.
21 And they stood, every man in his place round about the host: and all the host [b]ran, and cried, and fled.
22 And the three hundred blew with trumpets, and (A)the Lord set every man’s sword upon his [c]neighbor, and upon all the host: so the host fled to Beth Hashittah in Zererah, and to the border of Abel Meholah, unto Tabbath.
23 Then the men of Israel being gathered together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, pursued after the Midianites.
24 And Gideon sent messengers unto all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the [d]waters unto Beth Barah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered together and took the waters unto Beth Barah, and Jordan.
25 And they took two (B)princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and slew Zeeb at [e]the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued the Midianites, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond Jordan.
8 1 Ephraim murmureth against Gideon, who appeaseth them. 4 He passeth the Jordan. 16 He revengeth himself on them of Succoth and Penuel. 27 He maketh an Ephod which was the cause of idolatry. 30 Of Gideon’s sons and of his death.
1 Then the men of Ephraim said unto him, [f]Why hast thou served us thus that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? and they chide with him sharply.
2 To whom he said, What have I now done, in comparison of [g]you? is not the [h]gleaning of grapes of Ephraim better, than the vintage of Abiezer?
3 God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? and when he had thus spoken, then their spirits abated toward him.
4 ¶ And Gideon came to Jordan to pass over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, weary, yet pursuing them.
5 And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, [i]morsels of bread unto the people [j]that follow me (for they be weary) that I may follow after Zebah and Zalmunna Kings of Midian.
6 And the princes of Succoth said, Are the [k]hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hands, that we should give bread unto thine army?
7 Gideon then said, Therefore when the Lord hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, I will [l]tear your flesh with thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
8 ¶ And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise, and the men of Penuel answered him, as the men of Succoth answered.
9 And he said also unto the men of Penuel, When I come again [m]in peace, I will break down this tower.
10 ¶ Now Zebah and Zalmunna were [n]in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand, all that were left of all the hosts of them of the East: for there was slain an hundred and twenty thousand men, that drew swords.
11 ¶ And Gideon went through them that dwelt in [o]Tabernacles on the East side of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was careless.
12 And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he followed after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and discomfited all the host.
12 [a]So when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so steadfastly on us, as though by our own power or godliness, we had made this man go?
13 The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the (A)God of our fathers hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged him to be delivered.
14 But ye denied the Holy one and the just, and desired a murderer to be given you,
15 And killed the Lord [b]of life, whom God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.
16 And his Name hath made this man sound, whom ye see and know, through faith in his Name: [c]and the faith which is by him, hath given to him this perfect health of his whole body in the presence of you all.
17 [d]And now brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your governors.
18 But those things, which God before had showed [e]by the mouth of all his Prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath thus fulfilled.
19 Amend your lives therefore, and turn, that your sins may be put away, when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you.
21 [f]Whom the heaven must contain until the time that all things be restored, which God had spoken by the mouth of all his holy Prophets since the world began.
22 (B)For Moses said unto the Fathers, The Lord your God shall raise up unto you [g]a Prophet, even of your brethren, like unto me: ye shall hear him in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 For it shall be that every person which shall not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed out of the people.
24 Also all the Prophets [h]from Samuel, and thenceforth as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 [i]Ye are the [j]children of the Prophets, and of the covenant, which God hath made unto our fathers, saying to Abraham, (C)Even in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 First unto you hath God [k]raised up his Son Jesus, and him he hath sent to bless you, in turning everyone of you from your iniquities.
29 ¶ [a]The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold [b]that Lamb of God, which [c]taketh away the [d]sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man, which was before me: for he was better than I.
31 And [e]I knew him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.
32 [f]So John bare record, saying, I beheld, (A)that Spirit come down from heaven, like a dove, and it abode upon him,
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come down, and tarry still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is [g]that Son of God.
35 ¶ [h]The next day, John stood again, and two of his disciples.
36 [i]And he beheld Jesus walking by, and said, Behold that Lamb of God.
37 [j]And the two disciples heard him speak, and followed Jesus.
38 Then Jesus turned about, and saw them follow, and said unto them, What seek ye? And they said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say by interpretation, Master) [k]where dwellest thou?
39 He said unto them, Come, and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the [l]tenth hour.
40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two which had heard it of John, and that followed him.
41 The same found his brother Simon first, and said unto him, We have found that Messiah which is by interpretation, that [m]Christ.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus beheld him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonah: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation a stone.
