提摩太前書 6:12-16
12 要為信仰打那美好的仗，
要抓住永恆的生命。
你正是為此蒙召的，
並且在許多見證人面前
做了美好的告白。
13 我在那賜生命給萬物的神面前，並在那曾經向本丟彼拉多見證了美好告白的基督耶穌面前吩咐你： 14 要毫無玷汙、無可指責地遵守這命令，直到我們主耶穌基督的顯現。 15 在所定的時候[a]，他將要顯明出來
他就是那當受稱頌的、獨一的全能者，
萬王之王、萬主之主，
16 就是那獨一不朽的、
住在人所不能靠近的光裡，
沒有人見過、也沒有人能看見的那一位。
願尊貴和永恆的權能都歸於他！

路加福音 19:41-48
為耶路撒冷哭泣
41 耶穌快到耶路撒冷[a]的時候，看見那城，就為她哭泣， 42 說：「巴不得你在這日子裡明白關乎你和平的事，但如今這事在你眼前被隱藏了。 43 因為日子將臨到你，你的敵人要築起壁壘包圍你，四面困住你。 44 而且，他們要將你和你裡面的兒女猛摔在地，不容你裡面有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上，因為你沒有認出神[b]臨到[c]你的時候。」
潔淨聖殿
45 耶穌進了聖殿，開始把那些[d]做買賣的人[e]趕出去， 46 對他們說：「經上記著：『我的殿將成為禱告的殿』[f]，而你們卻使它成為賊窩了！[g]」
47 耶穌天天在聖殿裡教導人。祭司長們、經文士們和民間的首領們想要殺害他， 48 可是他們不知道怎樣下手，因為民眾都傾心聽他。
